  • Listening to this Throwback Tune from MC Vapour. First song iv'e heard from him and it was different. The beat alone was familiar but not completely. The overall feel of this one was different. Leave some knowledge down below for me.

    This is old school UK garage, the pre-grime era. If it wasn't for stuff like this then grime wouldn't even exist. Vapour recently done a warm up sessions on SBTV so you should definitely give that a watch as a follow up video.

    This is Garage bro, different tempo to grime. Grime kinda emerged from Garage, Bashment and Jungle back in the early 2000s

    This is BEFORE there was Grime, this was when there was Drum and Bass MCs and Jungilist MCs. This wasn't a song it was a freestyle on Pirate radio

      This is totally wrong 😂
      1. Not DnB or Jungle, this was UK Garage
      2. This was not a freestyle on Pirate radio it’s was a track released on Vinyl by Mark Ryder ft MC Vapour called Move Your Body

    For Me he represents Garage based music, and in England we have GCSE's that go from A,B,C,D,E,F,G and if you failed you got a U ( in other words he did terrible in English) 😂

  • @dmjnoble

    This is an old Garage track. Music like this is where Grime (and Dubstep) came from. One of the reasons why Grime is 140 bpm now is because MCs would spit over garage tracks or make there own Garage inspired instrumental. The vocals wouldn't always be very clear ether due to them having a limited set up in someone's house or shed or wherever. Basically it's what old pirate radio sounded like in the UK back in he day. Stuff like this spawned Grime.
    Also a G is an aweful grade. In the UK, our grades go A, B, C, D, E, F, G then U (if it was so bad it was ungradable lol). Not sure why we have so many grades. D is a pass but anything less then a C doesn't look good on a CV.

    Basically the music from the era is called garage and its what we used to play in the clubs. A bit like EDM but British and its called garage. Also we had MC's who spit over the music on pirate radio and at raves (club). MC Vapour was one of those MC's. along with a long list of other MC's & crews...... Like Heartless, So Solid, Pay as u go. So when these guys made garage tunes, they did it for raves and good vibes. Up tempo, good beat, with a drop!! The lyrics are kinda basic, but the crowd would be spitting with them and that was the scene.
    THIS IS NOT GRIME, ITS GARAGE

  • @DJHeisenberg
    @DJHeisenberg 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    important succession of UK music for ya.... acid house and harcore in the late 80s influenced jungle in the early 90s which drew on these plus hip hop + reggae. drum and bass then became a darker, stripped back version of jungle with heavy influences from the detroit techno scene. the kick snare 2-step from drum and bass a long with other influences (house music for example) led to this sound - UK garage. From this dark 2-step garage, dubstep and grime all came to be. That's the general trend (although obviously oversimplified) in which UK garage was a really important step. Interesting as you can trace all these genres back to a 10 second amen break from the song 'amen brother' by the winstons...

    This is the reason why i liked the DnB Mc's over Garage Mc's because garage mc's were cheesy as fuck and so was the music unlike DNB with people like Skibadee, shabba D , Fearless Navi ,Spyda and Bassman etc tec

    this sort of music is called UK Garage... it was grime before grime if that makes sense.
    grime was originated from artists like mc vapor, pay as you go, heartless crew, Morefire crew, wiley
    this music was the best sound in London from the early 90s right up until the early 2000's

    This wasn’t an actual song or meant to be released as a standalone song. This was taken from an hour long old school garage set. DJ playing loads of tunes with lots of MCs jumping in with rhymes.
    Uk school grading system is rated from A* (the best) to U (Ungraded) “G” is a grade worse than an F (Fail) but not as bad as a U

    This was UK Garage it came before Grime. Grime came as UK Garage started to die out along with UK Jungle. It started moving in to Bassline (4x4, Niche and Speed Garage) and Dubstep (Early 2000's Beats and Bass). Grime got a lot of it's element from a mix of UK Garage and UK Jungle. It was mainly Younger producers (Fruity Loops and Music Maker for the PS2) and MC's doing it, until Garage & some Jungle MC's started moving on to it. This is what brought it more in to scene because Pirate Radios where still on a rise in the 90's early 2000's so it got more air time because it was something new.

    • @ragasdapper
      @ragasdapper 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Graham Winchester Jungle slowly changed into Drum and bass which is big all over the world and has been for 10+ years

    • @blixuk
      @blixuk 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +ragasdapper Oh, yeah. Of course but that's a whole 'nother story of it's own. Jungle had alot of element from Break Beat, Reggae, Ragga, Techno, House and more. Each was combined and some more than others. Drum 'n' Bass came off the Break Beat/Techno side of Jungle. In my personal opinion.

    • @ragasdapper
      @ragasdapper 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Graham Winchester Plus jungle used jazz samples especially the Amen break, finally someone who knows what the fuck they are talking about

    • @blixuk
      @blixuk 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +ragasdapper Yeah, so much Jazz Pianos and Trumpets. The Amen Break is so iconic and so many genres owe a lot to it. It's been used in was too much to even mention. There's a nice shot documentary on it's history. Like-wise there mate.

    You want an explanation daaawg... Alright... This track was first aired on pirate radio around 14 yrs ago by Vapour... He was young but had been tearing it up for at least 3-4 years before this. He deserved waaaaay more credit even then (Let alone now) as he was ahead of nearly every other British Rapper/MC by a fucking landslide!! His Lyricism as a teenager literally scared other crappy hosts/mc's to death! But he now is 1000 times even better than this and if you heard his new stuff you'd be asking yourself for an explanation of how you've not discovered such a brilliantly gifted, incredibly talented lyricist before now?
    There's your explanation my friend but in simple layman's terms Vapour Is Fucking Fire!!!🔥🔥🔥
