Those Russian wrestlers didn't start the war, nor could they have prevented it. They surely can't end it... let them wrestle. We want to beat the best.
Russians are competing, just not specific ones. The ones that aren't, could be competing if not for personal choices. They were warned that they had to be neutral and stay away from sanctioned state-run clubs. The Russians who are competing managed to do it, so why couldn't they? Russians have always acted like they were above the rules put out by UWW or the IOC. These are the consequences to those actions.
Yes. If you don't betray your country than you will be removed from Olympic competition. (Unless you rare from a NATO country and then you wont be asked to betray your country) Let me remind you that all of the reasons that the US went to war with Iraq were completely without basis & manufactured, but not a single US competitor was removed from the 2004 Olympics for supporting the US during the war.
@@imacarrot6570 Russia wasn't punished for invading Georgia or taking Crimea. So I don't really wanna hear the crying. The athletes knew the conditions and ignored them. They have no room to complain.
@@amanrob The bigger your public profile in a place like Russia the less freedom you have. Maybe some of these guys defy the government and a family member gets thrown out a high-rise building. Crazy to ask someone to take that risk over wrestling and make it out to be a personal morals issue
@joefrascino4546 so he still lost and got owned lmao all that matters is who won and that is a lion playing w a mouse. He can get the gold this year but it will have no true value bc sidakov the true champ wasnt there.
@@amanrob No it was the fact that the Olympics are run by Western countries and therefore if the NATO country is doing something evil and the competitor supports that then there is no problem at all. Right now Israel is committing obvious ethnic cleansing in Gaza and yet they will compete.
@@imacarrot6570 If it is so evil and biased then why do they want to compete there at all? I find it funny you say that but the only ones ever caught for corruption in Fila/UWW were all former soviet republics, including Russia.
They were instructed that they basically had to take neutrality oaths in order to compete and deny all support for Russia's involvement in the Ukraine war. The athletes also had to stay away from specific state run clubs, such as Dynamo Sports Club. Unfortunately several of the athletes were caught showing support or visiting those sanctioned clubs. The replacements were chosen based on the qualifiers. For example, you had to place in the top 3 at the last chance qualifier to make the Olympics. Kamal Bey took 4th place, but one of the wrestlers that placed in the top three at the qualifier was removed. That means that he moved up and got a spot in the olympics.
What is this guy talking about sidakov is no longer representing russia team in 74 it’s kadimagomedov and he won over salkanov for the spot in the olympics in baku
The funny thing about all this is that if Russia or China was doing in Mexico what the US & NATO have been doing in Ukraine for the last decade then the US would have invaded Mexico 10 years ago. And ALL of their athletes would still be competing. The truth is that there is bias and the truth is that Russians and other Eastern countries really should not take the Olympics seriously.
Russia cares more about conquest than it does about international respect and communication. The wrestlers should not be allowed in. It makes no sense. These wrestlers represent Russia, not themselves. This is a consequence of their leaders, they can leave russia and represent another country if they want to wrestle.
The U.S. brutally invaded and occupied Iraq and Afghanistan for 20 years, killing vast numbers of innocent civilians, and all of it was unjustified and illegal. Why weren't American wrestlers banned from competitions during that 20 years?
Europe USA and olympics commission have become a joke with their double standards on Russia Ukraine but not Palestine “israel”. People aren’t stupid they can see thru it. A true loss for the sport.
As an American who isn’t completely delusional. I don’t know how you can even say that when you have Olympic champs on the Russian team and World champs who have literally beat Americans on the way to those titles. Sidakov, Uguev, Sadulaev all beat Americans multiple times. Russians can and have beat U.S. wrestler. Those would have been 50/50 and in the case of Sidakov 60/40 matchups. It was very competitive between the U.S. and Russia

Well now I know I’m not watching the OlymPiCs this year
too far
olympic wrestling without the Russians is just crap
Dake is lucky he's gona get a free gold medal now. Sidakov would've wiped the floor with him.
he didn’t wipe the floor last time with him, why would he this time exactly?
@Slapthematwrestling he got handled by sidakov. Unless ur braindead, u can look up the match. Dake is a lucky boy ima leave it at that buddy.

They should move to the US, easiest way is to walk across the southern boarder. Won't even need a green card.
And then they just wrestle for who? Lol
Sidakov to MMA😳 it’s over for the welterweight div
That would be wild
lightweight
We can still hope CP. We can hope!!!
Thats the point of sanctions though....
What if their backups, all medal?
Then the backups medal....
Are they ever going to learn?
Will semenov be in the Olympics?
Read on UWW that he is no longer eligible for the Olympics😢
Politics as usual
