@MarsiB013 The Rebels also use the LAAT, but yeah... It sucks for the empire and droids on space battles because those ships sit in the hangar, trying to fill up on passengers. Then, on small maps, they get hit so much they will go down quickly.

It could have been a special version of the ship or the seats for the ship are locked so players can't use them (trying to use my Halo logic). I have not seen the files, but maybe the animations are in the files still

It was literally a rapidly clicking split screen until we counted down. If we were on separate teams, Dad had his input to stop the fight. When on the same team it was perfect 😂

Taking on a stealth mission to steal the AT AT on Hoth was the most intense shit I’ve done in the games Edit: I definitely remember doing this but I may be wrong about actually being able to.

Most of the command posts are in one spot so you can never get a good hold on any of them. The republic gets two mobile command posts while the CIS has 3 command posts in the middle of nowhere. There is no incentive to try to destroy any of the command posts. The hail fire tanks are not fun to use. The ruins command post has no coverage.

the gunships can fly really fast in that game like in the clip here if you have high fps. the vehicle physics get weird and stuff like tanks will start to spin everywhere and the laat/MAF will fly at insane speeds
Yup, in the OG Battlefront 1 you could be a passenger on the LAAT. Made for some fun battles, I would go as Jet Trooper and jump from the bay in mid flight, or I would be Clone Pilot picking up squads of clones to hot drop behind enemy lines after blasting the landing zone then I would provide covering fire as they captured CPs.

The tech wasn't really there. The maps in BF1 are too small to support the air units in any comfortable way and doing CAS is a pain in the ass. They're more of a gimmick than anything. There have bene mods to BF2 which add space to ground combat with the capital ships though, those are fun.
Broooooo I was playing classic almost a week ago and there was this gunship flying around the spire, it was getting pretty close to one of the cliff edges and I was gonna try and hop on...then it turned to its side and saw this B1 raising it arm holding the cable, made me pause and go "wait, the fuck?", made me realise the reticle was red over the gunship and then the beam turret erased me. Respawned as a heavy and tracked them AI down for revenge.
I feel like jumping in the cockpit of a LAAT is suicide. No pilots ever survive. I can make a long running list of LAAT pilots who died from a crash, and literally no one cared

I once remember catching a glimpse of the beginning of the Umbara Arc from Star Wars the Clone Wars (Which I did fully watch with full context, it was amazing ofc) playing on the Living Room TV when I was real little and during the AT-RT scene, my dumbass thought that B1s were driving the AT-RTs. And to add the icing on the cake, I literally DREW that happening 💀💀💀

They are present in game too on utapau and mygeeto you can walk inside the hangar since there is not an invisible wall like the one from bf2
