Great Meeting you at the last match! I've been eyeballing the Gauntlet 2 .30 caliber myself. Look forward to the M50 review.

I have the same gun, same caliber.
I ordered one after watching Hajimoto's review.
First one was a leaker. Sent it back.
Second one held air fine, however every single screw on the gun wasn't even hand tight. How it ever left the factory like that is beyond me. I went over everything and tightened and used blue Loctite. Pay attention to the scope rail. It is a separate piece held on by some tiny flathead Allen screws.
I tried every kind of pellet and slug known to Man through this gun. It is very pellet picky. Most every pellet would group 3 or 4 shots out of 5 pretty close at 50 yards then get a flyer about 1 inch away. The only pellets that shot consistently were the JSB 25.39gr Redesigns and the FX 25.4gr. Those consistently shot
1/2"-5/8" 5 shot groups at 50 yards. Speed was about 915 fps.(47 ft lbs)
Slugs were a disappointment to say the least. The main problem is the chamber is so short you have to almost hammer the bolt to get it to close. This leads to poor accuracy and flyers all over the place. The only ones that shot fairly decent were the FX Hybrid 22gr. about 1" at 50 yards.
I think Umarex needs to address that short chamber problem. I have seen other reviews of G2's in
.25 and .30 where this problem occurred as well.
I understand the .30 G2 has the receiver and scope rail as 1 piece. That is the way to go.
I get about 60 shots out of mine on a fill. It is pretty powerful for a .22
    Pretty accurate with the Redesigns.
It is a good bench gun, or if you are shooting out of a blind from a fixed position. Not something most people would wat to carry around in the outdoors all day though. Umarex should have put a side lever on this gun instead of a bolt.

I think many air rifles tend to like a couple of pellets over others and that like you people should always go through pellet testing in order to establish that. The 30 is a monster and extremely accurate.

I have thought about picking up a .30 G2 some day.
Maybe if they upgrade it to a side lever and make the chamber deeper.

what pellets & weight? At 40 yds, I was expecting better grouping. I expect whatever pellet you're using it's too light in weight.

Being just the initial first look I was running the H&N 18s. This was not intended to be in any way a final what's the best pellet video which may still come. As you can see in the last target I show 9 out of 10 shots within a dime. Thanks

@@theshooterszone - I must have missed the dime part. Dime size groups at 40 yards is what I would expect.

Hi can I swap barrels 22caL. To 30 cal. Barrel?

No unfortunately the 30cal is made differently than the other calibers.

does it have power adjustment setting for lighter pellets? and how does it do at 100m. also is it good for slugs? thanks.

    • @theshooterszone
      @theshooterszone  ปีที่แล้ว

It does have a hammer spring adjustment for power. I have been shooting 44.75gr pellets at around 1k fps and they do fine but will probably knock the speed down a little. It does shoot slugs well and many are shooting 64-73gr and higher. 100 meters? Not sure how far that is but 100yrds it does well with the right scope.
