As always a great no BS review. when the Gauntlet 1 1st came out I bought one. I sent my Gauntlet 1 to Hajimoto Productions for a complete accuracy and power upgrade. I get 885 fps with 18 grain JSBs and 934 fps with 14 gr Crosmans. The real news is the accuracy and shots per fill. I get 75 shots at full power and it shoots anything with the name JSB on it at 18 gr and more better than I can hold it out to 70 yards. 14 gr Crosman pellets go under a dime at 50 yards. The sheet that accompanies the rifle includes 21 items addressed on the rifle, It wasn't cheap but custom guns aren't cheap. Add a Hajimoto tune like he did to mine at $325 to a Gauntlet and you have a substantial investment but wow does it shoot

Knowing what they've done with this rifle, it is designed to shoot heavier pellets and potentially slugs..with such a fast twist rate and higher pressure on the regulator, it is a no brainer that light pellets was a no-go. You should know once you push those pellets beyond the 1000 fps range that they're gonna lose stability, and adding the barrel twist rate on top of that is just fuel to the fire. Should have started off the review with 18 grain, 21 grain, and 25 grain pellets, and maybe a couple of slug sizes and weights, I was shocked when you said your pellet selection at the beginning of the video.

I don't know why but some youtubers including you waste time on light weight pellets maybe because you guys use more .177 and the weight is kept constant maybe but over here in Pakistan the .177 is not popular at all. People use .22 only. Some people who are crazy for power like me use .25 and above any how i want to tell that we here use jsb 18 grain as the bear minimum we dont look at 13 or 14 grains. Only some guns like lightweight pellets which are 16 grains jsb. Others usually like 18 grain or above and guns available and popular over here shoot slugs as well quite good. I use 18 to 25 grain in .22 cal. And also the chronograph data itself speaks that you wont get accurate groups with light pellets because what i have seen for over 2 years of experience i saw that most guns love their fps to be set around 850 to 940 fps, the weight of pelleta doesn't matter if you want accurate results. You can use 25.4 grain jsb knockouts slugs at 920 fps which give a bit over ¼ inch @ 50 yards without wind. I used to buy very cheap pellets which didn't even had their weight mentioned on it but after testing i saw jsb pellets the best for both accuracy and price. For some people jsb is very expensive but the results are out class. Some h&n pellets are 1.5 times the price of jsb which aren't even good. I love jsb and so does my guns. But for chrony data i have some extra cheap tins which are not damaging for the gun but it gives a good data 😂😂. Oh and btw check artemis m22. It is the best bolt action available and plus its a budget pcp as well. I love its bolt. You have to see a video on m22 or get your hands on one, then you will know what a bolt action really is. I have tried many even some top tiers ones of my friends arent that good. Also i noticed that extra top tier guns are sidelever only which are great for rapid/competitive shooting. Also if you have budget then definitely try hatsan mod 125 sniper. You will love it.
177cal works great to. The UK has 12ft pounds restrictions. But other places 177cal can be very powerful. Look at the AEAC video of the 177cal Daystate RedWolf. 40ft pounds of energy. A 15gr Sniper Magnum, or 16.2gr beast, are long heavy 177cal pellets. Piledrivers are 21gr. Plus they are cheaper than the rest. Hi from the USA 🇺🇸
@@heithwatkins i love the daystate huntsman and red wolf in .22. I have some guns on my shopping list like daystate redwolf, airforce texan or condor, fx impact m3 and a kaliburgun cricket as well. The only hindrance in buying these is my wallet. Once my wallet allows i will buy these and yes 177 are good but the groups open up quite a bit beyond 80 yards from what i have seen using different 177 guns of my friend. So i atleast have .22 and then my favourite is .25 but once i buy an airforce airgun i will be in love with that and ofcourse i will buy a big bore maybe a .357 or something. Also you can't compare daystate with some guns because daystate is electronic pcp which are far far better than mechanical pcp and this is why it a bit expensive as well. But 177 also has its own use like in 12fpe restriction countries or in a field where you want to take down small game without making the pellet or slug pass through the animal. But i use .22 for that purpose if needed otherwise now i am using .25 mostly and i think i will shift on a big bore once i get hands on it. These small bores would be my plinking guns, maybe i would use. 25 as well

25 as well
My machinist boy has a blunt expression for poor quality that needs mods just to function. You sir are being honest! This gives you an A plus! I cry in frustration and give it to him. No prob. He teaches me to shape, buff, polish! Oh yeah! Success!
Thanks james for your video ,experience, advice on the gauntlet 2 I was waiting for this rifle but I will stick with the first version and look a different options, as always nice review and shooting thanks again amigo!!!!
What a honest and legit video you got there bro! I think I've change my mind and consider other brands instead thanks dude you really gave a big help🤗
Thanks!
Seems he is selling the pellets and not the rifle...
he gets his pellets from wal mart 🤣
@@garthjensen245 Maybe I should as well.? 🤔
@@vincegonzalez7249 i would limit range to minus 10 yards 😂
@@garthjensen245 What rifles do you have? I bought the Hatsan .22 caliber but the tube that holds the barrel blew up, not sure how or why because there is no air in that tube, I am awaiting my new one to arrive hopefully this coming week...
@@vincegonzalez7249 im lucky to own a few high dollar impacts a AEA. All in diff calibers, along with the g1 and g2, a .50 hammer. You talkin about the flash? i have a Flashpup in .22 also. Thats weird it did that! im not sure how that can happen 😬. im so lucky to not have had any problems with any of my airguns besides a few showing up with leaks
Sending them pellets too fast that's the problem they're destabilizing
It's the rifling twist not velocity....they're unstable to begin with at the breech
@@STKO2011 wrong
I won't watch. Anytime it says "watch before you buy".... I'm out
technically you did watch according to analytics, and you commented on the video so sorry not sorry
I wouldnt waste your time on this dudes videos, has no idea what hes doing/talking about
I would send it back.
yep!
Thanks for your honesty, enjoy your videos.
Thanks!
Nother awesome review bud
Thanks!
Great video thanks
No problem 👍
I'l bet you need a heavier pellet (by a bunch). The barrel length is stabilizing these light pellets quite well. Pellets like 750 fps to 900 fps max. You got a bad
Monsters are the pellets to use. Anyone with a brain knows that.
Yep..... If wherever you got that POS from won't give your money back, I'd have that stupid thing on the Yellow Forum for sale at the best offer........ HATSAN all the way brother !!!!!!
Gauntlet 1 it is.
Never liked Gauntlet and Marauder magazines.
I hear ya!
Boo Hoo. It was designed as a hunters rig not a target plinker
Try to fix the trigger, then do a slug video at 75 or 100y. If the trigger can’t be fixed, throw it away
I am not going to waste too much time on this rifle since there are bigger problems I have found
Avenger hand's down !!!
exactly!
Made in CHINA. No thanks. Quality going to be luck of the draw.
What's the hardest hitting 25 or 30 cal avail? I know issues are common but can be fixed but which is best and most powerful and with less problems ? Between G2 and AEA challenger or Avenger
Looks like a POS. When will you do a review on the Umarex Walther Reign?
STKO OVER HIJIMOTO AND RICK....WHEN U BUY SOMETHING IT TELLS THE TRUE STORY.
👍🏿
Thanks!
Why is he YELLING!?!
The twist rate does not change with different pellets! The correct twist rate for the g2 is 1 in 16. Get rid of those wal mart fall apart junk pellets and use some heavy pellets. Once again, terrible video
Thank you, My 880 powerline shoots better at 25 yards than that! It only costs 50$ I'm glad I didn't buy that crap!!!!
THIS GUN SUCKS ASS!
Try JSB HEAVY Diablo thank me later tightest groups possible out of that gun stock
Why don't you adjust your scope to the right
so you hit bulls eye . Come on dude
