FYI that’s because they use a gigapress and one of the reason Tesla can pump out so many cars the Y is very impressive with only 2 pieces that they press together. Also reason it handles so good but any rear quarter panel damage on any vehicle is the most expensive
@devonloerop can you talk a bit about your zoning and STR permitting process? How you were able to do three homes on a parcel and rent them out as STRs? Please 🙏 Love what you e done❤
Can you do a video or talk about the permitting process for the cedar hollow? Interested in what all the requirements are for not needing a permit in the build.
@@TheRadLion Are you wondering what you would need to be able to build a home without a permit? There are a few counties in some states that either don’t require a permit or a permit is easy to get. Really, it varies a lot depending on where you are. I just wouldn’t recommend building anywhere in which the costs are extremely inflated, it doesn’t cost $40,000 for a permit everywhere.
@@Lumberperson Yes, I am wondering what specifically for the cedar hollow though as I live in the same exact area and have been looking in to building a similar home.
I have an older Tacoma that is my "going to Lowes/Home Depot' pickup. I just love it but with all the heavy duty stuff you are doing, I"m thinking you went for a full size F150. Congrats on new subscribers and all your success with the builds. 😊
Devon this isn't going to be the last dent if you use trailers a lot. Get a couple nice paintless dent repair tools and pop it out yourself in addition to all the dents in the future 😊 put all the money saved towards another property
Man that hole shouldn't cost $11k. Several ways to get it back to original (or near enough to not matter) but none should cost that much. Get a second opinion from a decent autoshop.
You would be right if the body were made from steel not aluminum. And if Tesla didn't require authorized, certified body shops. And if insurance companies could just magically choose to ignore Tesla's requirements to get a less ridiculous price. You would, ordinarily be correct, however in this case, the problem is a few layers deeper than just finding a "decent body shop". Cheers!
@@jamil8lila If you are correct about this, that just makes Tesla cars essentially a scam. Nothing against you, I’m just saying that making a car like an apple phone is ridiculous. They’re going to have some serious competition in the next 10 years if they don’t change that inability to fix their cars easier. If they keep that up, I genuinely hope they go out of business because musk would deserve it for scamming his customers like that.
@@Lumberperson hey buddy, I am no musk fan whatsoever. There’s about a 98% chance that I would never own a Tesla car for many reasons this being a big one of them but that end you should also educate yourself about other crap car companies that have equally as shitty policies, such as Rivian, Porsche and I’m sure there are more. Because of unibody construction it can cost $45,000 for rear quarter panel dent to get fixed on a Rivian so it’s an automatic total. If someone breaks your Porsche 911 window and there’s broken glass inside, Porsche’s policy is to require the replacement of the entire interior which can easily total the car --insane right? I just thought when you’re calling out idiot car companies you might as well be fair. Have a great day, my friend.
For the carpet, buy a black tape, run it over the entire edge and that's it. This is what I did at the disco with all the carpets so the corners don't lift up and no one notices.
Excellent work yet again! Also, if you don't mind me asking, what kind of loan did you get for the Pacific Bin? It seems like lenders aren't too willing if you don't have a cookie cutter design. Also, enjoy the Cyber Truck!⚡
Heyyyo!!! Finally getting to a new video upload for you guys tonight. :) I'll have to show you how I have the barndo laid out in another video because when I designed it I did it in such a way that the "business" side of the home is on the other property line so there's no way to interface with guests (or even see them). It will make sense in the video. Privacy is essential.
@@devonloeropHow did you manage being able to put all these homes on one parcel AND use them all as STRs? I’m trying to find property to do this currently in CA and have been met with a big NO each time no matter the county. How did you manage this regarding zoning etc? Love watching your channel 😍
I’m curious about this as well, and specifically how he’s able to rent each of them out as a STR. I’ve tried to find land in CA in order to do something similar and it’s a pain in the rear…basically can only do one STR on each parcel. So am curious what the situation was like for him. Love this concept he’s doing!
Now I’m looking at that Tesla truck and the potential tax savings! Lol I just don’t wanna necessarily give up my Subaru ascent, which I used to get us up to the mountain all the time for skiing!
I'm going out on a limb and say that you got a Chevy Silverado EV...I was going to say Cybertruck, but as a GC, this is the EV that makes the most sense hauling stuff around the PNW without range anxiety.
Hey dude, you might want a water kettle that can be put on the stove. If guests keep putting a plstic one on the fire, it can burn your house down. They'll probably keep making that mistake, thats how people are. Seriously, dont risk that
Hi Devon, I thought the very same thing as @lumberperson -- better to just get a regular tea kettle :). Kitchen fires are a real thing ya know! Love your channel and applaud everything you are doing! God Bless!! xoxo Heidi
Hey bud. Great content. I recently found your channel and it has been quite revealing. I'm interested on building a cabin myself here in WA state. I have a concern around security. Have you have any issues with that whatsoever? How do you keep everything safe from intruders when there's nobody around? Especially during the building phase? Cheers mate.
congratulations on the GC license.. i mean at the rate you've been going, no need, but i guess it does make permitting and a lot of other things easier than grabbing a licensed contractor. can i ask how you got started in construction as an engineer? I love love LOVE the complete shift into finding out what you're truly passionate about, but did you have a parent or grandparent that you tagged along with asa kid and helped with their projects?
I’ve enjoyed all your videos. Keep up the great content please do not chop firewood without chaps. I’d hate to see your legs get cut off. Think about your safety first.
You definitely should get a second opinion before paying $11,000 for that. Either someone else can put in a new panel for less, or someone can fill it in and completely repaint the car for probably closer to $5,000. Just call 4-5 mechanics and body shops to get quotes. Don't just ask Tesla mechanics, regular car mechanics can fill and paint for less than that. And regular mechanics can probably replace the panel, it isn't a battery replacement so you don't need to only go to a Tesla dealer to get it fixed. Electric car places probably jack up charges because of their niche, you don't need them for this, don't get scammed.
Hey Devon, I love your places and this channel just rocks! A couple of things come to mind. Option one: Why dont you order a 50 pack of custom stickers at stickermule and stick it half on the kettle and half on the lid like they do when something is new ( It can say something like: This is an electric kettle-don’t put it on the stove, it’ll melt! Enjoy your coffee or tea! ) Alternatively, if you want to be more eco friendly and upgrade your whole guest experience, you can do exatly what I did when I was hosting, and order some square "post cards" or even business cards might work from Moo, and since Moo allows you to have different creative on the backs of each card, I would put just your logo and the name of the place they are staying on the "static" side, and on the "dynamic" side, you put little instructional "how do I use this thing right here" messages: "This is an electric kettle-don’t put it on the stove, it’ll melt! Enjoy your coffee or tea!" and a QR code to the cute little video that shows how it's used. You can use this for the kettle, hot tub, sauna, cold plunge , heater, etc. I did this when I had an airbnb, and it worked amazingly. I used it for all the "techie things" like my projector, record player, pool heater, etc. I bought a little laminator, and laminated the cards and they lasted forever pretty much. Instead of laying them out on the computer, my girlfriend (who has lovely handwriting) hand lettered the creative so it felt really personal and bespoke. I hot glued some of the cards to tiny little neodymium magnets and some of them we punched a hole in the cards, and threaded a nice ribbon and tied them so they would appear in just the right place for my guests to learn the thing they needed to operate. I told my guests to just feel free to throw the cards in a certain kitchen drawer when they have read and understood how to use the thing so they don't need to keep looking at them. They loved the "just in time" help and many mentioned them in the guestbook and reviews. The cleaners just washed off the cards and replaced them for the next guests in the turnover. Good luck!

Attach an oversized metal trivet to the bottom of the kettle and no one will try and "cook" it again. Worked a charm for me!!
