Fifty years ago my high school choir performed this piece, in English, at a nearby church. Our performance was absolutely perfect. Unfortunately, we never recorded this song. As I write this I have tears in my eyes. Such a wonderful performance. It's true - music is the universal language and hymns like this one can truly pull us together as a people. Carry on, choir. Love to all of you.

This takes so much vocal control to sing. Each of these choir members is an outstanding vocal musician. The sopranos on the high sections - so beautiful and tastefully done. I could listen to this to all day. For anyone who doesn't know, this Latin prayer is translated in English to "Lamb of God, who takes away the sins of the world, have mercy on us. @Elijah Music helps me too. Music like this comes from God. His spirit inspires music like this which is why it has a special affect on us. It lifts up the soul and mind to go beyond our earthly realm and into the divine. "Agnus Dei" means "Lamb of God" which refers to Jesus Christ. I too was feeling depressed about things and this music brought my mind back to God and I felt hopeful again today. Each person has a body and an eternal soul. Our soul will live on and if we try to live good lives, we can spend our eternity in Heaven with God after we die. In the meantime, we have to make an effort to use our talents/skills to help others and do the task for which God sent us to earth. Take care my friend!

To quote @MoonSpinners, Time stood still for 8 minutes or at least the horrible things going on in our world stopped for these 8 minutes while I listened to this beautiful masterpiece of music.

My favorite part.. From 0:00 to 8:17 .. The fact that just the human voice in collaboration is able to bring out such emotion and in pure fluidity, make this a go to clip for me to visit constantly. IMHO the best piece of music ever written.

This music rips the soul and bleeds the heart ...... It reminds us that we are more than flesh and bones! How great we are in our humility .... If the History of Humanity on Earth had to have a soundtrack would probably be this ...... I really can not stop listening ....

I don't cry when I hear it anymore, but that is 40 plus years from when I first heard it. I used to go the listening room at college and play it on the little record players they had for us students... then, I would pull friends in to listen to it with me. It is sublime- a masterpiece of moving tones and emotion, transcendence and beauty, reaching and drawing back. It is beautiful.
