The word Excellent is an understatement! I created an account just so I could thank you for this extremely helpful series. Believe it or not, my local companies were trying to charge anywhere from $400 to $1000 to replace two springs. I watched this series, purchased two high quality springs (30k lifecycle) and two binding bars for $120. It only took about 2 hours and eveything works perfectly!!!!
Thank you very much! Simply perfect instructions.

This was an excellent instruction. I bought my spring for $45.00, The winding rods I got at home depot for $7.00...it was a 1/2 inch steel pole that was 36 inches long. I just cut it in half. This saved me over $150.00...my door works great now. One of the best you tube instruction videos out there. Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!

My spring didn't break, but I couldn't get the door to retract all the way. After watching the video I learned how to adjust the spring and I didn't have to spend any money. Thanks, Serg in CA.

    dude! you are the man!!
I was intimifated by the warnings of injury, but after watching your video several times carefully, I was able to adjust the spring tension and get my garage door opener working again. saved me $125 on a service call and you explained everything very clearly even I could follow what you were doing.
    Thanks

Well once you watch these video's it's really a simple thing. If you try to do this without watching the video's you'll likely hurt yourself. Many thanks for the clear and simple instructions - it was just what I needed to adjust the spring of the door.

Great video! I had never worked on a garage door spring before and I was able to easily re-tension both of my garage doors after watching this video.

Thank you so much for producing this video. Our torstion spring broke today on our garage door. Our door has the same measurments as the one in your video except ours is made of aluminum and only has a single right hand spring. This door is the only door in the front of the house & is our main way in & out, This probably explains why it failed when it did. The spring on ours looks like the same in this video but I checked HD and they didn't have em. Thanks again... Joe in Sacramento.

After looking around and checking this was the best explanation and instruction I found.
Good job. I did it the same way, follow this instruction and you can't go wrong.

Habpro, thumbs up for your videos. I have to balance my garage door, which is the exact same type like yours. Two springs, segmented door, 7 feet tall. Do I have to unwind the springs completely, and then rewind like the way you did? Or is there a short cut? Thx.

@furqaan99 I had this happen and found I had the springs on backwards one of them bunched up, I then double checked the right/ left hand twist and reized I had them backwards after fixing this all was great. right hand twist goes on the left side facing garage door from the inside and the other one goes on the left but check and make sure it is left hand twist. hope this helps.
