When you opened the wrapper of the lollie and chilli gagged, that is because when cats hear certain repetitive noises like the wrapper noise it sends them into a mini seizure.
Is that a thing for people too? When someone stirs a metal pot with a metal utensil, and it scrapes, I almost vomit, and gag. I have to plug my ears and yell loud so I don't hear it
@vykepp5709 i don't think it's a thing for people. sounds like you have misophonia- sensitivity to some sounds. i have it as well and my reactions can include gagging, shivering, and a whole body discomfort that spills into pain.

For lollipops the trick I've always used is to grab the top and the bottom of the stick and twist until it unwraps itself, makes it much easier!
He gagged because of the sound the lollipop's wrapping paper did when you pulled it off. It's a small seizure called FARS. My cat reacts to the sound of cutlery :'(

Doesn't have to be. My cat gags (and even pukes) when she smells something she doesn't like, especially chemical smells or flavored sweets as in this case. My other cat doesn't 🤷♀️😆

When I was in my grade 3 we used to do that trick lolly. Here in Philippines we have that kind of lollipop called 'Lips'. Since we were not allowed to wear makeup this was our hack and it actually works.
