Plant sorghum every year here and always get a great crop except for last year because we went 3 months with rain. Plant at 40 -50 lbs to the acre for finer stems, fertilize with heat and a little moisture it will grow like crazy!
Sorghum is grown for drought it needs piles of sunlight and very little rain I personally have never grown it but the neighbours that I have seen that grow it have gotten a lot off of it in drought years and almost nothing when it is a rainy year

Yeah, I think the problem was it was to wet this year for it. And maybe we didn't plant it thick enough
If you try it again next year go with pearl millet. It tolerates the whole range of weather dry wet cold etc. better

sorghum is better in dry years in wet years the yeild is horrible
