Thi. Many 'core' skaters feel skateboarding doesn't belong in the Olympics, but IMO skateboarding embodies the OG Olympic virtues of athleticism and fraternity. The women's skating in particular was a welcome display of sportsmanship and mutual respect, especially at a time when lots of people around the world would rather kick each other's heads in than say hi.

When I stated skateboarding I had to cut a fish to a shape of a normal board cause there was no boards to buy in Poland. Everyone of those guys is a winner for me. Skateboarding was never a competition for me it's a way of life.

The sportsmanship in Skateboard is really good tho, I remember watching people skate and when they do insane stunts people were like cheering on them, or you finally did that stunt you've been trying. Its a very nice environment of sport

Yes Keegan was more technical but Pedro rode the park like it was supposed to be riden, shredded everything and still included technical tricks. He did not only do 540's but a McTwist as well and a McTwist is way more difficult, especially with the grab he did.

You definitely can. Everyone can. You just never give up. A part of skateboarding is falling and being in pain, but when you fall you ALWAYS get back up.
maybe not at this level, but get some nice big soft wheels, something around 54mm and at least an 8 wide board and once you get some balance and learn to drop in, you're golden to start having some fun in like a 4 or 5 foot bowl and just cruise. pump the corners, don't worry about hitting the top.

@@cartercummins9488 In the US if you don't have a paid subscription service all you get is a short highlight reel on youtube that spoils the results in the title. If you have a link to the street competition I would love to watch it.
@@markvgarcia I signed up for the free streaming app and after giving them my personal information I found out you still had to pay to stream skateboarding and even then you had to wait until two days after the event. I still haven't seen any of the street contests.

That's how skateboarding is. If you're sitting in 2nd, the person cheering loudest will probably be the one in 1st.

skateboard competitions are less then 10% of what skateboard really is. even if you go for 30 competitions a year, you still have 330 days of pure fun
