If you'd like to watch along with me for Wandavision, Loki, Falcon & the Winter Soldier, What If, and Hawkeye, the full length reactions are all available on Patreon! www.patreon.com/brandonlikesmovies (recommended you wait until tomorrow to sign up as Patreon charges the 1st of the month regardless of when you sign up). All these will eventually come to TH-cam but there's currently no timetable for that.

If you didn’t know, Oscar Issac and Ethan Hawk are neighbors. Oscar went to Ethan with this role because they’ve wanted to work together for awhile. So cool these two can headline a marvel series together. So much talent and Star power between the two actors.

      They have another connection too..
Ethan Hawke was in First Reformed (highly recommend)
      And
Oscar Isaac was in The Card Counter (still recommend, but not for everyone)
The connection is the director.. his name escapes me right now.. But he was the guy that wrote taxi driver.

The fish didn’t grow a new fin, it’s a different fish. When he was at the pet shop freaking out the pet shop clerk told him that he was there yesterday and that she told him ( in a very scattered explanation) that the pet shop doesn’t sell one-finned fish. whoever “Marc” is- his alter, the one involved in mercenary work, the one that has enemies probably took him home, then upon noticing that his fish had died, gone to the pet shop to try and buy him an identical fish so that he hopefully didn’t notice.
Sadly, Marc couldn’t get him home in time for the date.. sad😂

"Has he been dealing with this his whole life or has he just messed with the wrong thing which possessed him?"Both actually, Marc Spector had mental health issues to begin with due to his survival guilt and trauma from the wars he fought in and people he killed as a Special Forces merc so his mind created the persona of Steven Grant both to contain and suppress Khonshu`s power(Hence the moon god`s antagonism towards Steven whom he calls "Idiot" and "parasite") as well as repress his own trauma and guilt(Hence Steven`s blackouts and Wolverine-esque memory gaps) and Marc was exposed to a moon stone infused with Khonshu`s power.

I think the start was very interesting and different, we get here an origin story of a different kind, so to speak. Because Steven is actually only a small supporting character and Marc the main character. We don't get the origin from Marc or Moon Knight, but from Steven. It's something different. I think it's good.
If you know the comic, you know that Netflix would have been the right partner for this show and certainly not Disney and you can see that here. Anyone who knows Daredevil and the Punisher knows what is missing here and that does not change until at least the fourth episode. Violence will only be hinted at here. Nothing is shown on the level of Daredevil.
Apart from that, the series is very well done. Better than Falcon and Winter Soldier.

We really don't need Daredevil violence in shows though. Doesn't really serve a purpose when you can just imagine what happens

@Kinody No, it's simply part of the comic. Just like Deadpool and Punisher. Imagine both without this depiction of violence. The same goes for moon knight. Whether you need it or not doesn't matter. It's just part of it.

@@levipeterken4020 What you need or don't need doesn't matter at all. It's just not true to comics. It's like Deadpool without violence. Simply not right.

I wouldn't be surprised if there was a Moon Knight mod for Meta Knight somewhere out there.

Hey bub I really loved your reactions . Especially to its always sunny and breaking bad. I feel as though if you loved Breaking Bad you absolutely have to review the Sopranos. Top notch acting and plot just like Breaking Bad.. You won't regret it.

Great 1st episode, keeps us guessing, some of the editing reminds me of 'Hot Fuzz'...

This show gave me some Nobody vibes. I get the feeling that in creating the Steven identity, Marc and his "patron" went a bit too far. It didn't seem that either Marc or Steven are entirely comfortable with the mundane nature of Steven's life. Steven is struggling, wanting more, and Marc is making dates and doing who knows what. Curious to see how Steven's life evolves as the show continues.

Any scenes do you think they could have cut when compared to a big-budget Marvel movie?

I really enjoyed the 1st episode, but I wished they had released 2 episodes for the Premiere to give us a little bit more.
The interesting thing is that Steven who we see for 95% of the Pilot, is actually one of the alter ego's, Marc is actually his primary identity and who he grew up as. This was alluded to when he answers the cellphone he finds and she asks "What is with this accent...", and when Arthur (Ethan Hawkes charcter) says "I assumed it was an alias" and the way he says "Steven Grant of the Gift Shop", it would seem theres intent there that he doesnt believe thats his true identity. If you notice, everyone else in the show apart from Layla, who knows "Steven" only knows who he is at the Museum, and hes only worked there for a short time.
I think we're going to see a whole lot more of Marc being the primary viewpoint, hence why he has Oscars real accent while Steven has the stereotypical London accent.
I hope they dont skimp on the darkness too much though, Moon Knight operates closer to an anti hero like Deadpool or Loki. But hes haunted by mythical egyptian dietys and the story revolves around his DID and his unhinged mind. It definately needs some darkness to it.

@@SnailHatan didnt say anything that has eventuated in the show vs the comic, Steven isnt even the same character. Both characters have been rewritten for the MCU adaptation. But keep being passive aggressive.
