I was in cornwall as a child for that, on a garage with a pair of the solar sunglasses, super excited. Cloud. I remember seeing on the TV people doing sun dances at Stonehenge 😂
The planet Earth is an incredible place. So thanks Alyn, for reminding the people that take that for granted. This video is the reason why we have a need for the word 'vicarious'.
wow I did the same crazy shit. it was stressful, we had to get in the car and move location miles down the road due to clouds. ended up in a historic cemetery in south Carolina few flew in just hours before total crazy . but I got the whole thing. with out time lapse, and the night insects and the birds, the indigo sky ways so strange.. can't wait to see the next one.
I went down from Canada for the total ecplise in the states a couple years back and it truly is an amazing experience. Your excited panic in your video I can totally (no pun intended ) relate to! Thanks for the video!
16:35 is truly amazing. Pablo's shot is nicely done as well. Two thumbs up! Thank you for sharing your preparation and experience with us. I will be sure to re-watch this video again when the next total solar eclipse happens in Canada in 2024.
You are AWESOME!! Can not get enough!! This reminds me of when the eclipse came over here (the US) and I planned and planned got all my supplies and gear to use two cameras. In the end the best was done with the SEL24240 zooming out for a good blue hour and zoom in for the diamond ring and all and setting one button for APS-C mode and doing a crop also. You were so busy doing the selfe you did not get Earthshine off the moon just a little tweak with the EV dial but I know you will get the next time now that you are hooked!!!!
Alyn, sincerely chuffed for you and Adrien and this why you guys are such inspirational people. The effort to deliver when at the same time trying to take it in with the naked eye is worthy of praise you both are receiving and to share your adventure was fantastic. Im sure your mother will forgive the potty mouth 😀
hahaha! well done man, it just be amazing, you really makes me feel i was there with you running from a camera to another. really fun to watch. nice video and editing. congrats.
Fantastic Aly!!, and make money for next eclipse in La Araucania region next December 14, 2020 (summer season) in southern Chile. Pucon will be a good place to watch and there you also have Villarrica volcano which is one of the most active in the world, you could take wonderful pics of volcano too, but don't worry, it's not dangerous most of time.
I felt that with you! I was able to see my first total solar eclipse a few years ago and it is a very emotional experience. Great shots though! I just got into astrophotography and photography, so I can't wait until our next solar eclipse. I hope I'm half as ready as you were. Nice work.
That selfie is boss! I have yet to experience a totality! Beautiful! I tried hovering the mouse over the timeline and moving it back and forward, at the totality part you can see how the shadow moves over the sky in the preview :D
Ah man make sure you do it as soon as you can, there's nothing like it. I was going to add a sped up version of that clip so you can see the shadow sweep across but forgot in my rush to release it asap, doh! Thanks man hope you're good
Thank you for the vlog. Well done and so timely! And thanks too for the various links. Your adventure reminds me of my time in the Wyoming landscape searching for the perfect place to observe totality in Aug 2017. Totality was such a quick 2’20”. Amazing you captured images of such quality in such a short period of time. Kudos
Alan, your enthusiasm is amazing. Even though you know exactly what will take place, your amazement at what you witness is very genuine and uplifting. You are truly the proverbial “kid in a candy store”. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

My Dad would have LOVED to watch this total solar eclipse because he loved astronomy and he knew so much about the Universe and the stars and planets, although he was an ordinary people in this World, without formal studies in Astronomy. He died at the age of 88 JUST one week ago and JUST at 4pm at home with us, and the eclipse was JUST one week after on a Tuesday at 4pm. My mom and I went to visit him at the Cemetery JUST on Tuesday 2nd of July, the day of the eclipse. We live here in Santiago, Chile and my mom and I celebrated this awesome event with him at his tomb. I do love you and miss you Dad.
