So heartbroken that you won't be able to get the chance to look back on this with a VR headset when you're "old and grey someday". Gone far too soon. Rest easy, Alyn. Thanks for everything you gave to us.
Such a talented astrophotography. I'm going to miss the videos and teachings. I'm absolutely going to miss this guy so much. Taken way too soon. Rest in peace, Alyn, hopefully up n the Stars.
Alyn, I don't know man what this thing is, how you do it time and time again, you always inspire me through each of your vlogs and this my friend is an absolute masterpiece. So many bits to talk about but especially liked that two minute interlude where there's so subtle soothing music, no talking and just constant shooting stars all over the place. Could very easily relate to those talks about wishing/almost hallucinating for a fireball and also loved it you said ," There are all happening behind us."🤣, so goddamn relatable... And suddenly 6-7 shooting stars just burst in right behind you. The effort behind curating such a stunning 360° VR photograph must have been Herculean. It was mind blowing. I personally though and as you said, get a very genuine feel of the meteor showers when we see it in the form of a video. Trust me, It was a treat to watch every second of this vlog and I must admit that this is the best vlog you've ever made by far since I've started watching you back in 2019 I guess. Always feels like you're there man, showing us the way.❤️ Thank you from a huge admirer of your work. Keep shining, and may you continue to be blessed with inspiration. 🙏🌌
You were poorly here, if only things were different. I’m so sad you lost your battle to infection Alyn!. May you shine on in the beautiful night sky - I will look for you!
Wow! I have been looking forward to your Geminid adventure for so long, and boy, what an insane experience this was! I thoroughly enjoyed it man. The 360 end result is beyond insane! Too bad you got to end it feeling ill though. Anyway, thanks so much for sharing again. Extremely inspiring stuff 👍
Thanks for sharing the human story behind the scenes, showing the joy that you and Jakob share for being out under the night sky with a camera, or 5! Glad he was there to help you when you needed to get down.
Fabulous, not stupid. I am not a photographer I just walk out in the local cow pastures. It funny how we talk to meteors. I love the VR work that you are doing. When I lived in the city for most of my life I never saw the milky way. Some people will never see the milky way. Good work.
You and your inspirational content are truly missed Alyn...you get to witness the heavens from a different (and much better) perspective now...Rest In Peace my friend.
I was working in the Isaac Newton Telescope featured for a couple of these nights over the geminids! You can see us with lights coming out to the roof to watch
Like already said on Instagram: this is probably the best vlog of 2024 already. What an amount of work and what a bizar result! Absolutely loved it. I always enjoy your adventure-vlogs the most and this one was really awesome! 😃
Thank you so much for taking us along with you! Really inspiring views. I can't imagine the stress or handling 5 cameras without making mistakes / throwing off focus and the hours it took to make the video! Great to see Jakob as well!
Alyn, what an incredible image you shared at the end. Been following you for years and you always seem to create jar dropping images year in year out. You have every right to be proud of that final image, that is what dedication and effort looks like. The other images were fabulous too and I hope your illness was brief and you recovered quickly
What a video! Amazing camera work to get that 360 of the Geminids. La Palma was my destination beginning of January as I was so depressed with the UK weather and I was so chuffed with what I achieved there and at the very same spot where you got your stunning image. La Palma rocks and so do you!! :)
This is a beautiful video. I am just speechless. Absolutely stunning photos!! The amount of work and dedication that came out of this one video is mind blowing. I hope this video gets the attention it deserves.
I watched this on Patreon but had to take a second viewing here to REALLY appreciate your editing of this amazing night. So sorry you got sick but glad you stuck with it and got your shot!
Very nice vlog. Brings back memories of my own trip last December to the southwest of Portugal. Best night was 14/15 with 250 meteors in 11 hours with a 14mm. The 360 image is absolutely amazing!
Well damn! There’s nothing quite like really enjoying a good book only to find out that some twist of fate has resulted in the latter chapters being excised and burned. Thank you for teaching while you were here, and sharing your joy. Sincerely.
I’ve been saving this for a special time this week and that was worth the wait!! What a great portrayal of the adventure, Alyn - thanks so much. The 360 is an amazing piece of work, and the vlog an equally awesome feat. 👏 👏👏
Can relate to the days spent processing images to make a composite from timelapse. Did something similar for the Perseids last summer and had ~30,000 images to sort through for meteors.
Stunning work Alyn. This vlog seems different to others you have done.Maybe because of no commercial obligation...who knows. The soundtrack fits well with the content. You seem more relaxed somehow. Looking forward to your thoughts on the Z6ii too ❤
Alyn, outstanding video and adventure! I almost began dancing when I saw the green monsters; I've seen many and never photographed any. I saw one god through clouds at dawn one day while driving to work. Hope you felt better after your nap?
Those two final images - wow! Great result and an interesting vlog. GJ succeeding with all this heavy logistics. My experience this year was a bit limited, but next time I’ll take a couple of hours to get to a darker location. Hope you eventually felt better - looked like it was a bit cold but no better place to just lay down and relax
Nice shots. Night photography is both a pain and absolutely wonderful. Well done. My attempt at the Geminids failed this year as low clouds kept me in the dark. There is always next year. Thanks for putting this together. I know it is a lot of work. Well done.
I bought your book and it provides fantastic insight into what great an expert in this field of photography you are … this video is absolutely awesome 😮 I am really looking forward to your video about editing this incredible amount of photos. Cheers …
Amazing art, like always! Thank you for that! ❤ Could you please share the camera settings for realtime filming (aperture, picture profile if you use any and iso) with the A7sIII? I would really apprecite it! 🤗🙏🏻

Gone far too soon. Rest easy, Alyn.
Thanks for everything you gave to us.
Ohhh, man!! I am so sorry! I was about to write him that he have a great voice! I am so sad...
Who would have thought😢 this was going to be his last video that Alyn Wallace would share to us all😢 Rest easy brother❤
What happened?
@@MontanaDirtRoadsunfortunately, he died at the end of march. I believe it was due to an infection caused by a gall bladder stone
😔
Wow, rip Young man 😢
Oh man, just heard the news 😢
May your night sky be forever clear Alyn.

😢😔💐✨
Wonderfull! Just beautiful. 🤩 What kind of ISO settings and exposure are you using? I guess it plays better off with a newer camera.
I just got into this channel. I’m looking forward to more content.
He has recently passed away… I love this channel. Thankful to have these videos.
Just started editing my Perseid video and remembered this one. RIP Alyn, you are missed by many of us!

Truly looking forward to the VR experience, if it's a good quality production I would honestly pay for it!
I love the inspirational nature and "doing it for the love of getting something new" feeling of this video Alyn. Congrats on the outcome!
I love the meteor at 3:01 while you're talking about not missing too many meteors with that set up. Left side of screen.

Thanks, man, for sharing. All that you do.
Mind blowing Alyn
Could that 360 set up be used to record video too you think? I’m sure it can, but I’m thinking how cool that would be to do photographing wildlife
Amazing video. Great job. Can you share your video settings you use for filming the meteors?
I think im going to have to join patreon. The post of this must be crazy. I cant miss out on that
Nice shots. Night photography is both a pain and absolutely wonderful. Well done. My attempt at the Geminids failed this year as low clouds kept me in the dark. There is always next year. Thanks for putting this together. I know it is a lot of work. Well done.
Good spirit. Don't wait for the Geminids next year, Moon phase isn't great. Perseids in August will be good
