For some reason i find these planes great to fly. Captain Mitja can fly this, if i can fly these anyone can. The beers always help everyone no matter what, Well done captain Mitja, another legend from Slovenia.
I hope one day to receive a personal hand salute as one of your devoted fans from the United States of America. God Bless and keep up the good work. Very informative and entertaining. All the best Patrick Lawler!
Look at Dis 😍. Got by three brothers fix today. Brothers from a different mother. Think the CG was a little off. Sorry about the crash. You show it like it is. Love you guys from North Carolina. ✈️😀💝
A great big salute to Captain Mitchell, I am so glad that you are starting to put more of your friends flying on the channel. It's been awhile since we've seen a full-blown crash. Put Captain Mitchell on a buddy box and they experienced pilot on the other radio. I'm sure with Captain Blaz help that this airplane will be back air again. I also think Captain Mitchell needs to be on a high wing beginners playing for a while. Don't worry Captain Mitchell talk to Captain Blaz about nervousness before he flies LOL
Captain Mitia, it was a beautiful day for the walk of shame. I'm sure everything was better after the third beer, oh ya! But those day's come to all of us. Big salute from Drummond Island
A beautiful plane and even after the crash it is repairable. Captain M. you showed class under a lot of pressure and it is great to see you smiling. The Petrincic brothers will be good mentors to you and even though they give you a hard time and tease you we can see how much they care about you. To you I give an "Oh Yeah!"
That flight reminded me of my first flight with a YAK 54 that I bought used. COG was off bad, and ended up in the same manner. It did though, teach me a lesson. 2 rules. 1. Check CG 2. CHECK CG ;)
I was an accomplished RC pilot years ago. Now I am getting back into it. I have chosen an easy to fly Turbo Timber plane to hopefully keep the plane in one piece long enough to regain my piloting skills. Also, foolproof way to check CG - screw-eye into basement joist, hang front and rear of plane from screw eye with string, adjust for plane to hang level, then hang plumb bob from screw eye which will show CG very accurately and allow you to adjust it by adding weight front or rear as needed.
Luckily no moles were killed in the wido. Zee Blaz will have it cleaned , running , and in the air in no time. Good luck on the next one and never give up. You have thousands of brothers behind you. Wayyyyyy behind you :) Russ/NC USA
Captain M, you couldn't be in better company to get the plane repaired and you will fly it. Of that I am sure, you have two great friends to help you. Keep smiling, Captain Blaz and pilot Robert always good to see your videos. Thank you so much for your positive attitudes as always. Best regards and have a drink for me as well, 😉. Best regards to you all. Your friend from Burlington VT USA.
The plane held up very well, nice strong plane! Definitely looks like CoG was too far back. Unlike what most have said here, a 3D plane does not take a master pilot to fly. If you use a slightly nose heavy set up, keep the control surface throws small and use expo they are actually very easy planes to fly due to their very light wing loading. Being a fiberglass plane it is slightly heavier than balsa and the tail can be quite heavy on these. Sometimes you even have to add weight to the nose in order to get a good CoG. So I would check those things Captain Mitja and don't be afraid to try it again! I would balance it so the CoG is right on the seam where the blue color meets the yellow on top of the wing, or at most 1 cm back from that line and try that.
Capt.Mitia you was very nervous and then being on camera made it worse for you and then to top it all off the plane was way out of CG soo many things against you and yet your a beginner you did a fantastic job all the same so you had a little crash nothing too bad and a little time to fix and get ready for another mission , so in my opinion you did very well and i salute you for this great effort my advice for next time is once the plane is set up correctly and ready dont have anyone film you so you wont be as nervous and have Capt.Blaz Take it off for you and trim it out then pass it on thats if your happy and you think you can handle it or maybe fly a little more with the high wing for more experience until your 100% comfortable as the Extra is a Advanced 3D model so dont feel bad at all you actually did quite well considering the model was all wrong in setup, i hope you enjoyed the cold beer after that little headache you had my friend , big Salute and cheers from Andrew Reece- Wingman RC
yes i was really nervous but i am not burdened with anything at all next time i will fly with my new dechatlon a high-wing plane it will be much easier
Happens to the best of us mate.I don't think any Aero modeler can say they have never had some sort of crash.u can only defy gravity for so long.this plane looks like it can be fixed and u just happened to have an expert in Petrol engines as your best mate Captain Blac.
Salute, Capt. Mitja! First, the airplane is fabulous! Good choice! Second, never mind the "hard landing". It's all part of the process. Just fix it and fly again. I love a plane that is not perfect aesthetically -> It has more character! Salute, Gentlemen!
Nee bother Pilot Mitja,Captain Blaz and Pilot Robert have crashed many times ha ha ha.Keep trying and flying Pilot Mitja ,YOU WILL FLY good like Pilot Robert n Captain Blaz soon.Great video from Slovenia.Cheers for your time ,effort and inspiring enthusiasm. From Wild West Oz
Sorry Capt Metior, love your plane and giad that it can be easly repaird. You are with a great team and this is the best all around flying chanel .Cheers!
Well the plane and engine are reparable..... as I watched the flight so wobbly I thought a nose down crash would happen. So it’s unlucky but still lucky in a way. You still have good flying weather over there my friends.... and good weather to drink a beer!
"Hahaha Captain Mitja, you're a Killa"! But in a positive way, loved it! There's an expression in french saying: " We take the same (stuff) and start again! For sure you'll do it, Switzerland's watchin' U!
As Clint used to say : “ ..man gotta know his limitations.. “ Big salute to Major Mitja ! And to my friends Los Petrincicistas ! Thanks , that was a lot of fun, especially as the Phoenix will rise !
I had built a 1.0m model of a P-51 fighter, it took me several weeks before I had the courage to actually fly it. The take off was perfect the flight was sketchy, the landing was terminal. But you know after weeping for a day and enough beer to make it all not so important, I decided to get out there and try again. Yes, I've had many more flights and several more crashes, but that's what makes the hobby so darn entertaining. Live and learn.
Hey what a great ending, what a great model, so pleased to see minimal damage. A crash can be so heartbreaking but this one was ok. With a new model and a new plane it’s a good idea to have an experienced pilot test fly it first , then set it up for the novice to fly, CG, trim, throws and suitable power settings. All up the pilot made a great flight and video, well done ! Here in Australia we are in lockdown and can’t fly, just watch your videos !
Wiley Coyote always crashes in the cartoons, maybe you should have put the Roadrunner in instead! Recheck the cg and try it again once Blaz cleans the engine and gets it running again, maybe back off the travel on the elevator a bit as you don't need so much for just sport flying.I've been flying the e-flite 1.3m extra on rf8 and like it a lot.Great job Robert,Blaz and Mitja!!
Well boys, we all learnt flying and having the same experiences unfortunately, I have an Edge 540T, and I have a lot of respect to my plane, I share the same opinion with Capt. Blaz, I don't like 3D, I'm 74 and it gets on my nerves, I prefer something more gentle. At least the crash landing wasn't that bad, apparently minor repairs, it's the learning curve we all have to go through... All the best boys, and thank you very much for the really good videos. Regards, George
Its great when you feature inexperienced or unskilled pilots on your video's because it shows just how skilled and experienced you two are, it's only from flying for many years that you know the kind of things you mentioned in trying to help him and in the post-crash analysis - this flight was doomed from the minute it started rolling, he showed poor directional control, worse power/energy management, nerves and the inability to calm himself and panic. He clearly has many years of flying to go to get to your level. The only aspect in which you failed is in allowing him to fly an advanced aerobatic so early in his training. I don't think he learned anything other than this was the wrong airplane for his level of experience. You can't stop someone you can only advise and make recommendations - that's something you both did really well.
dust it off, glue the rudder hinges, throw a prop on and be back in the air immediately!! looked a bit tail heavy in flight, could have turned out a lot worse.. great flight! great video! Salute!!
Captain Mitja, please do not feel to bad and do not give up on 3D planes yet. Your flight looked like it had issues with CG and bad trim. I had a similar maiden flight the other day with my Dynam Waco. Trim was way off. It was tough keeping it level and going in a straight line till I got the trim sorted. Now it flies like a dream. Put it back together, check the CG and have Captain Blaz take it up and trim it for you. Do that before you get rid of the plane. I think you will like it.
Let's call him Capt. Meteor... Meteors are things falling from the sky ;-) ....only kidding, seriously!! Glad to see there's no big damage. Imagine myself trying to fly this with the Petrincic brothers talking my ears off... Salute to Capt. Mitja
Glad the PTIB (Petrincic Brothers Investigation Board) caught the event and aftermath on video, so the investigation is off to a good start. Obviously we will need to see the engine tear down and rebuild to see the more advanced stages of the inquiry.
I also flew and crashed today. My new Avios GrandTundra. I learned hard lesson from new transmitter and not checking the controls as you suggested. But it will fly again.
I might be wrong, but the plane seemed to be badly out of trim, and was over correcting and panic mode set in.. that extra will fly good. Lower rates and try again my friend!👍
Nice plane. He got lucky with the minimal damage. Maybe after he gets the engine rebuilt and cleaned up and the damage repaired maybe he should let Blaz trim it out for him and then try to maiden it himself. Bet Blaz can get it going pretty quick.
Set more dual rate on the elevator. You'll be good to go. The CG looked fine for an Extra 3D model, the touchyness is required if you are going to perform aerobatricks. Dual rates will reduce the twitchiness. More expo for delayed change n the surfaces.
Captain Media had the jitters, but in his defense those birds are for experienced aerobatic pilots. Its wing is set up for inverted flight, and the respond very sensitivly. Good looking bird. Good filming good action, big salute..
Salute captain M, sorry to see your beautiful Extra 300 Crash like that. For me I think if you lower the control throws, have 35% expo it will be fine to fly for you. it might be aerobatic but flying a big bird like this is easy to see and will fly like it is on rails which a good thing. Maybe? :-). Salute from the UK thanks for sharing the video!!.
At least it is done autumn plowing at that field - really strong airframe! Like other said - it looked like aft CG - congrats to Mitja staying that long in the air! Don't give up! P.S. Robbe had similar, but much smaller plane - Puma - but this looks far more advanced/stronger - at that time they usually have styro/birch wings like Robert said .. probably something newer, but there are so many Extras out there - really hard to say ..
@@mitjahoman6199 - That is the spirit! P.S. Tell Blaž that he will not smell that engine until 10th successful maiden - sure he will tell you to move CG 2cm fwd.. ;-)
We have all been there and done that , it's part of the hobby! Very lucky to get away with so little damage. I would just say it was rough landing Ha Ha ! Peace my friends !
Put Captain Mitja on your new flight simulator Robert. Missed the knife edge pass with smoke on :( Elevator trim was out(down elevator) ,not cg Extra 300s,yak 54,edge 540 etc not easy to fly but when mastered ,they are THE best planes to fly and thats it eh 😁
Captain Mitja is both very unlucky and very lucky. Very unlucky to maiden crash so many planes.. but also very lucky to have such good friends at the field 👍🏻 Maybe it was tail heavy. But it looks like it would fly again no problem :)
Looking at it again it looks like u might need some down thrust in the engine.I think it may also be a little tail heavy as well.I recognize it from when u open the throttle and it just wants to climb.hope this helps.make sure Captain Metior doesn't give up.pick up that transmitter again mate.u will be OK.practice makes perfect.
They make a controller that hooks up to the other AS A MASTER so new people can learn and the master control is in the experienced operators hands. That's the correct way to teach someone new. When in training it's a one on one lesson. No comments from the peanut gallery lol.
@@mitjahoman6199 you can do it. More nose weight and more expo and Les rates until you get a feel for it. Tough Bird there and Wiley the coyote even survived 👍🏼😎✌🏻🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Mitja was too scared of this plane to begin with. Extras and similar things are excellent flyers and will (because of their normally powerful motors and engines) forgive any mistakes (stall, ...) that the pilot makes as long as he knows in which direction he has to put the sticks and how much throttle he has to apply. I would suggest such plane to anyone who already knows how to fly a trainer with ailerons as his next plane, over any warbird, pilatus pc-21 or other scale airplanes.
darkiee69 I feel like you are the only one paying attention. Braž assumed on the crash site the battery was too much forward creating a nose heavy literal dive bomber
Good to see your videos my friend!!! Tell to your buddy to use a gyro in order to make things easier. I use the Guardian 2D3D in my planes and it helps me a lot. Cheers 🥂!!
*Wyle E. COYOTE* !! Gotta be the best-bad pilot ever, I think Mitja was doomed to fail. If only you'd filmed this in the quarry, with the plane plummeting to the bottom, with just a puff of dust to show us where it crashed...🤣

The CG looked fine for an Extra 3D model, the touchyness is required if you are going to perform aerobatricks.
Dual rates will reduce the twitchiness. More expo for delayed change n the surfaces.

it's always fun and full of laughs with them!!!
Thaaaaanks, see you...
@@mitjahoman6199 you are a lucky guy to get to hang out with Robert AND BLAZ. I would love to Fly with the slovanian Brothers. ✌🏻😎👍🏼
Hey wats dis eh? More content from my favorite channel! Oh ya!!!!
Put Captain Mitja on your new flight simulator Robert.
Missed the knife edge pass with smoke on :(
Elevator trim was out(down elevator) ,not cg
Extra 300s,yak 54,edge 540 etc not easy to fly but when mastered ,they are THE best planes to fly and thats it eh 😁
Simon,
thank you for advice!
practice is all it is,winter is coming, practise on the computer eh :) seemed as though you were holding elevator to keep it level ??
Hey that made a great video tho! Capt Mitja was doing loops!!! Ha ha It could have been much worse! Salute Cpt. Mitja you did a great job
thank you...
next time better!!!
@@mitjahoman6199 You did good considering how it flew, and brave to even try! Salute to that 🛩️
thank you
big salute from our beautifull country
Captain Mitja is both very unlucky and very lucky.
Very unlucky to maiden crash so many planes.. but also very lucky to have such good friends at the field 👍🏻
Maybe it was tail heavy. But it looks like it would fly again no problem :)
I expected a complete wreck, but not so! Strong plane, that will fly again. Never give up!! Salute!💯
me too. but...
lucky boy i am
Mitja Homan Indeed you are Mitja. I hope the second flight will be more pleasant and successful. Salute!💯👍🏻🍻
@@Simonize41
well check cg before next flight and then he will test it c. Blaž
NTSB investigates this one... Salute
did anyone notice at 7:10 in the video the exhaust pipe flew off on the runway, it was falling apart before it left the ground...lol
Be nice to see in the air once you move the cg back.
With the right CG you will love it again;)
Man, one of these days I'm going to have to come to Slovenia and show you guys how to crash American style 🤣😂😂Salute to you all. I love Extra 300's
oooook
see you
Unfortunately the cg was bad Captain Meteor. You will be okay next time!
When is Captain David coming back?
cg way in the back, the thing was pumping like the DOW Jones
ahahah
if you didn't know me you would think I'm a pro
it was a great day
@@mitjahoman6199 you can do it.
G-SPOT, SALUTE.
thank you Roger, salute too you
What a nice video! Sorry for the smack- down! Go ahead, get some beers and repair the shit! Thumbs up!!!
The exhaust pipe is back where you ran it up before takeoff
13:00 beautiful crash :D hihi Please use stbilization system 3 axis Eagle Tree or Volantex
I feel sorry for the guy, it was the wrong plane for a novice/beginner to fly.
he really is my friend but that was my wish and i am quite happy
@@mitjahoman6199 good attitude
He needs a cessna to start with. It wouldn't be so tragic.
If they're properly trimmed and with low rates they're pretty docile.
darkiee69 I feel like you are the only one paying attention. Braž assumed on the crash site the battery was too much forward creating a nose heavy literal dive bomber
That coyote can never win. BEEP BEEP :)
I love Coyote too, his giant feet on the rudder peddles! HAHAHA
I agree, I feel the CG balance was off. but I think the prop could be glued back together :)
Good to see your videos my friend!!! Tell to your buddy to use a gyro in order to make things easier. I use the Guardian 2D3D in my planes and it helps me a lot. Cheers 🥂!!
Sorry for the crash. Train alitle more fix it and go again mick. Its a very nice plane and hobby. We all crash now and then . Go on and good luck
*Wyle E. COYOTE* !! Gotta be the best-bad pilot ever, I think Mitja was doomed to fail. If only you'd filmed this in the quarry, with the plane plummeting to the bottom, with just a puff of dust to show us where it crashed...🤣
LMFAO
