Skelton decided to ignore the instructions and continue to hold the horse up until the straight. Given the way Rising Fear came again on the line, I strongly doubt that he would have been run down.

Yeah, I think that`s right. Would have been very hard to run down. Was put over the jumps at the end. Didn`t the horse earn a comfortable retirement?
