It is very beautiful and is full of potential, the price of over three million is way too much for the amount of work it needs. To get some of those fire places and lighting fixtures working again will cost about three million in France to renovate properly.

I WOULD LOVE TO RENOVATE THIS CHATEAU; AS IT HAS BIG POTENTIAL ALSO THE GARDEN !
I thought it was exquisite. But the truth is, any one that can afford the $3 mil price tag can afford to renovate and redecorate. And anyone that would love it just the way it is..( with a little touching up here and there) sadly cannot.
Looks like a few new curtains (but they may take them anyway, never know?) and also one wall area, perhaps need to be maybe just tacked down, not sure?
Need to see roof maybe? Perhaps the striped wall paper, in reception area I think it was? But not necessary right away. Much is fine.
Checking out about the chandeliers and if they stay, (they are lovely and perfect) and furniture or not the furniture etc.
The water should be plentiful. Basement dry? Just smaller things and guess if in writing, it helps to know what goes and what stays. But overall, it truly is one lovely Chateau and so much can be done to make it your very own and with so many bedrooms it could be a Bed and Breakfast I would imagine? Love the caretakers having their own area too,
The real Estate people would go over all of this and much more!
(Did the caretakers house need doing over or was already someone living there now, and has been working and living in it? Maybe they would stay, if the right person bought it, and would want them to? If they are there anyway, not sure.) That would make it easier and down the road they could even have update there too if they would want to do it maybe if they had money to get what they needed to fix it up? If they would have time anyway? Or owner may even help some, one never knows?
Personally, would need house keeper. We could cook. (Here am I, dreaming again) lol

Looks like a lipstick and rouge situation but that's rarely ever the case.
Ive seen a tour of this house and it has humidity issues with some mold in some areas but controllable. Biggest expense would be to fix the roof and any rotting beams. Most of the electric and plumbing in modern era i recall but needs better HVAC. Its not really in really bad shape yet but if not maintained within a year or two it's going to need much more.

Why does everything old need to be 'renovated?' God, so sick of hearing that word. Just enjoy the beauty of its age & history, and not have to have a need to "modernize" what is there!
well, I think that peeling wallpaper needs to go and the place needs some love.
Well Henry you go there and see for yourself. Try having a bath with buckets of hot water for a while and see how you like it.
