      +Jason Deli So true... Very solid players both and I enjoy all the different music philosophies that shine through the different heads in the Andertons crew...

    Pete has that bluesy jazzy thing down to an art and Bea's proggy funky shred is a perfect counter point. this pedal sounds fn amazing. more of these two together.

      +Harry Muff was gonna say the same. these two are by far the best & most well rounded players on the crew (at least from what we've seen in all the vids).

    You guys didn't mention the delay stacking features of the DD-500. You can have a delay preset on the A channel and a preset on the B channel and they can both run them simultaneously

    • @grantharlow
      @grantharlow 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      OptimisticDingo thanks for mentioning this. I actually started rewatching to see if I'd missed it. It's a great feature, and something not common to many other delay pedals. Does the Timeline have that? It has a Dual delay preset but can you stack delays simultaneously?

    • @TylerDickeyMusic
      @TylerDickeyMusic 7 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      The timeline doesn't have anything like the delay stacking features of the DD-500. The dual delay setting in the Timeline is the only way to get 2 delays and it's nowhere near as customizable as the DD-500

    Most Excellent! Fun to watch you both smile at each others playing at the beginning. Such nice clean tones both.

  •  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Since both of you bring so much positive energy from that video room to anywhere in the world, I think the name should be 'The bright vibe show: music 'n gear, with Pete and Rabea.'

  • @jdock2
    @jdock2 8 ปีที่แล้ว +8

    Oh my gracious. The sound quality of the playing is enviable. I certainly wish my recordings sounded that good. I know most of it is in the fingers, but the equipment can't hurt. Well done.
    Maybe your show could be called "Tone Town" 'cause that's where you're taking us all :)

    • @mcren6781
      @mcren6781 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You will never be happy with your recordings until you have a guitar that you absolutely love. When you mic a cabinet you are hearing your guitar under a microscope, and I cant tell you how many times I found that my guitar actually didn’t sound as good as I thought after recording. I was trying to get thick sounds out of a bright strat or les paul. Make sure you have a guitar that sounds the way you want first off. Then, I would definitely use 10 gauge strings or above and double mic that cabinet is an absolute must. Have one set up to be micd warm and one micd a little brighter.

    Good to see these guys together, the diverse styles between em is great, the bluesy jazzy wonder of pete and mick together is good too but Bea adds a lovely angle, especially since the big ambient stuff is summit he hits out the park, Beas playing, as a whole, is f'king outstanding. Loved this vid, a good wee laugh during it as well. Can we whack it.

    I wish Strymon pedals had the interface that this one does. You go into the settings and see a lot at one time, rather than just scroll through them one by one. I also prefer the "press edit to execute" as opposed to the "hold to save".

    Brilliant channel.. one of my favourites. I have a question and an idea for a video. The guys mentioned midi on this and lots of other kit. I have quite a few bits of gear that have midi too. I've never used it..... ever.. I have started to wonder if my band could link up all the various midi equipped kit we have and have a system where the patches on anything get changed automatically...when the song requires it.. Tell me it is so and explain and demonstrate. Ta very much in advance. PS my missus thinks Rabeer looks great now and he has become a djilf.....whatever that means.. Love you guys

    I'm VERY interested in this pedal. The main delay I'm gunning for is the Avalanche Run, but I may sell my Strymon BlueSky in favour of this (i know it's a reverb, but a lot of the ambient stuff I like out of it seems available on the DD-500, AND more, AND I have a couple of cheaper reverb pedals for when I actually need reverb)

    hey guys, what a nice review!!
    just a quick question ; Is it possible to control this pedal via midi automation through pc ?
    I mean, u can edit the parametres with any DAW (such as cubase), and u can control through a midi chanel the pedals turns on/off-select the preset, right ?
    this could be very helpfull, especially when u play with clicktracks

    Great review and brilliant playing. For me, the question is, Is this really a pedal? Here it's on a table, but working on this while on the ground connected to a pedal board, is this any fun? I see this as a competitor to a computer. I'd be interested in feedback on that.

    Question for Rabea or anyone who wants to chime in.... I have a Helix LT and I am thinking of selling it. I have studio monitors and a DSL 40c Marshall. I was thinking I could get a Boss DD 500, Boss Reverb 500, and a Boss Modulation 500. They are 100 bucks off until tomorrow. Are the effects in those 3 pedals better than the ones in the Helix LT?
    I love the tone on my Marshall and I have a good attenuator with it I use and a few distortion and overdrive pedals too.
    My thoughts were these 3 pedals would be much better than the ones in the Helix LT or perhaps I just don’t know how to dial the Helix that well.
    Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
