  • In today's video, we are reviewing three different sweet vermouths: Dolin Vermouth de Chambery Rouge, Cocchi Vermouth de Torino, and Carpano Antica Formula Sweet Vermouth. Are there significant taste differences between these popular brands?
First, we taste them individually. Next, Carl stirs up three versions of a classic: the Sweet Martini. Let's see if Riley can pick out the sweet vermouth used in each one.

We almost always have Dolin as it's pretty common around us... Carpano is so coveted here that the rare times it shows up, a bunch of bartenders arrive as soon as it hits the shelves and clean out the stock immediately. We've never been able to catch a bottle. We are lucky though, as a local craft distiller makes their own sweet vermouth that's one of our favorites. Wish they made a dry and a white as well. Thanks for this folks! Great review!

I am one of those rare people who drink chilled vermouth neat. I've tried it on the rocks which is how some people drink it, but I sip it, and the ice ends up diluting the wine before I finish my glass. A 750 liter bottle will last me about two weeks. You're right.
But you (Americans) are leaders in online cocktail chanels and are influencing other newbies.
Watching your chanels can create an opinion that the best Vermouth is Carpano or Cocchi and the only Bitter is Campari.
It is like choosing only between Wild Turkey and Bullet Bourbon.
Where we all know how many great bottles are still there on the market.
BTW try something from Mulassano or Quaglia Distillery. They have great products. Less hyped by the "big guys" but very qualitative.
