This a perfect example of why I say shredders suck. They play with NO FEELING! Tommy can blow you away with speed as well. But at the same time he makes it sound beautiful. He feels every single note

I agree. So many shredders just seem to think the only things that matter are speed, scale noodling at high speed, fretboard gymnastics, ultra high speed runs, harmonics, octave jumps and general wankalotting. There ARE a few who are able to combine shred with feeling and an interesting melodic line, but the others just strike me as self-obsessed narcissists. Those guitars sound great and with TE playing them I thought they might burst into flames at any minute! I am always amazed at how large Tommy's hands are - great for playing guitar. The old saying about a man with large hands, he owns big gloves ...... ha, ha!
I used to regularly catch Tommy and Phil at the “Bondi Astra” way back , it was continuous guitar duels. I remember Tommy on his tip toes in a high piece, thoroughly immersed in the climax, when Phil would just pull his lead out. Tommy just used to give Phil the brotherly “Death Stare”.
We are sorry that you could not see the guitar front. We had a quick opportunity to meet Tommy in his daily schedule. It was not planned to make a good quality video but we have done our best to make that happen. Next time we will do as best as we could to have all the material. OUt of context...and by himself....the guy has a sixth limb and is the guitar. Don't be so snotty, he's not even muting properly. He is been playing since before the Bee Gees were famous and did have an electric guitar hit in the 80s with a Tele but obviously is not used to high gain with distortion.
@@einarabelc5 This word "properly" is open to translation. The secret to this here is, a very good experienced player can make sound any instrument fantastic. And Tommy is the best guitarist know on this planet since the invention of guitars. Any questions??? But sure, Lava guitars still can be good instruments.
If I were you I would make a guitar to give to him, if he loves it he will play it and it would be a good move for Lava guitars...Might be better to make an acoustic though...
Watching this guy noodle around on an electric guitar is like watching B.B. King, Brad Paisley, Eddie Van Halen, Chet Atkins, and Les Paul take turns trying to outgun each other. I think he could even give Andrés Segovia a run for his money.
All this "What does it look like" business...tell me, how does it sound in the hands of a master? Any wimp can swing a sword, but a master will make its craftsmanship shine.

I’m sure it’s a great guitar, but Tommy can make a ketchup bottle sound good!

So good to hear him play on a very good electric.... wish he would do it more on stage. That is some kind of great sound in Lava Guitars....
Dave Webster thank you for a good words!
Dave Webster you should hear his brother play electric , even better when they both play together ,incredible
Heard! incredible!
Have a listen to his determination album. Some great electric songs on that👍
Wurthit 123 or The Journey / Terra Firma album. His collaborations with phil are amazing in general
Great advice for any luthiers promoting their brand get Tommy Emanuel to test it as he can make any guitar sound amazing.

Good tone in that axe. Tommy E is as always stellar.

I was thinking these guitars give off that Robben Forde sound and then Tommy starts playing some Robben Forde. Legend.
Always generous with his time can't imagen a lot rock star types taking their time to do something like this when they're on the fly.

sounds great. is that solid rosewood neck? neck thru?
TruthSurge it is Sapele/Mahogany neck-trough with Ebony fingerboard.
He is right . Wish he would do some more country stuff . With paisley or Brent mason
Ilove how he plays Robben Fords Revelation :-)
Is that a little Blackstar Ht1 amp..?
Robert Falconer yes!! In a wide room with a natural reverb!

The guitars sound nice and Tommy is the best anyway... But for me the real surprise is that little amp!
Neuroguitarist it's a HT - 1 Combo
Blackstar - best of British amps - better than Marshall in my opinion.
Blackstar 1watt and reverb, great amp from britrock to blues and really nice highgain stuff
