If Line6 were fair they would give you an endorsement deal & a 700Ac. for free to replace the one you had to sell! Great playing, instructive vid - 5 stars!
You make this instrument sound so sweet. I don’t understand why you sold it! Ha ha. I just picked one up on the used market after seeing your video here. I am going to have a lot of fun with mine. Glad you left this video up because it is one of the better demos of this axe. Thanks man. 🤘😎
Brilliant demo, Line 6 should pay you for this vid! I wanted to hear this guitar before buying one (trading for one really), and you've handled everything possible about it, alot to think about for an electric guitarist like me... Thanks!
@cowboy51256 that guitar got a exaphonic piezo system, which allows to program, for example, the two lower strings only with an octaver or any other grade of pitch shifting.
the nice thing with the line 6 thingies though, that multi-fx pedals can´t do with sound shaping, is that this does the processing and stuff to each individual string separately... so the quality is alot more consistent...
Awesome sounds. was hoping there would be a video of this guitar and would it get that kind of sounds on a pa system? am looking to get one soon and to have that many choices is a performers dream...... well mine anyway. again great video
Not trying to sell mine. Use it with zero compression (it has a compressor knob, and you'll be tempted to use it), but if you can stay away from that, this is a live acoustic performer's absolute best option. The compressor really emphasizes the very minor flaws in the modeling technology. They haven't made this guitar in years, so I will never sell mine. But it's never going to sound good through an amp. It's tailor made to be played through a PA. Recording is ok, but if I'm recording, I have more authentic options, and I like to mic those authentic options. But nobody wants to carry around a dreadnaught 6 string and a banjo and a 12 string to a gig. Except Black Metal players...they love banjos.
it may or may not be a drag, all depends on your playing style...sometimes you cant really tell..other times, if your very percussive and in the pocket, it can be noticeable. The benefits outweight the negative
Matthew James Absolon Hey! I used the software at the time to modify the setting if I remember correctly. Was a lot of fun and I miss it, but the couple millesecond lag on this setting drove me crazy.
Hi Brian, I love your guitar and playing. I actually went out and bought one because of your demo. Just wondered what brand strings and gage did you use on it? Thanks!!! - John
its not tracking...its shaping the sound coming from the regular piezo pickup....only flaw is a very slight delay.this technology is really cool, i believe the new fishman pedals use the same technology...sound shaping....
These things have delay? Do you know if the 300 models have delay as well? I'm planning to get a Variax 300 Nylon, and it would be a bummer if it had delay..
Ahh, okay. As long as you don't have to calculate when you have to play when playing live with a band :P I played a 300 nylon model at the guitar store some days ago, but I was in quite a hurry, couldn't really test it, but it sounded pretty good.
I don´t agree. Are you sure you talking about serious recording? These guitars are absolutely good enough for excellent recording. I have seen much thing worst than this making huge success around.
it's very very small, hardly noticable, but i can....i still love the thing, you should go play one at a store befor eyou buy it, and im sure the 300 may nit have it..
Hey very nice demo! Thanx for it! I still own one and will not sale it, because I think for studio works it's good! You may hear it on my Roxanne cover /watch?v=bGtc7v-WzjE and i think the sound is good! I'll try to use it live now the 2. time (and maybe the last! ;-) ) but i like that guitar! So many different sounds is really nice to have, although they need some further cosmetics to sound like an accoustic, but thats o.k. for me! All the best from Germany / Cologne Lothar as ELPI
silentj80 I had actually ordered a model but it was recalled back to the factory before it even arrived. I told the music shop to give me back my money. Something is wrong with this brand, and I don't trust it at all.
4 years and still loving the guitar

Brian,
Thank you soooo much for showing your talents. From a Beginning guitarist ! G.

Cool! You inspired me to break mine out and work with it again.
Dave
Don't sell. Keep it. You sound great with it!

Good afternoon, does Variax have this model for left-handers?
Can u play it without strings?
Hi Brian. How did you do the base on the top two strings? I just bought one of these and I am trying to do that. Thanks!
Matthew James Absolon Hey! I used the software at the time to modify the setting if I remember correctly. Was a lot of fun and I miss it, but the couple millesecond lag on this setting drove me crazy.
so there is a latency , like a milisecond of space between when you touch and when the sound processes and comes out the speaker ? thats a drag
Hi Brian,
I love your guitar and playing.
I actually went out and bought one because of your demo.
Just wondered what brand strings and gage did you use on it?
Thanks!!!
- John
awesome sound!
I am considering buying the 700 electric version. Any advice?
Hi Brian,
What strings did you use on your Variax?
Thanks for this video, it was really informative! But may I ask why you sold it?
its not tracking...its shaping the sound coming from the regular piezo pickup....only flaw is a very slight delay.this technology is really cool, i believe the new fishman pedals use the same technology...sound shaping....

hey nice playing. i have that guitar! how did you do the bass thing?
it was some hiphop song from about 3 or 4 years ago. never knew what it was called. i learned the riff for a friend.
OK serious question, what amp are you using? I have a few amps but none of 'em make my variaxe 700 sound that good.
💪👍
Update...... now own one and more than pleased. best wishes, dan

Thank you for this video!
I want this guitar
very cool...
Great, honest review.
GREAT JOB!!!
about the same as an electric, its a solid body......
dig!
and how would you do that?
I don´t agree. Are you sure you talking about serious recording? These guitars are absolutely good enough for excellent recording. I have seen much thing worst than this making huge success around.
The answer is to NOT plug it in an electric guitar amp. The cabinet of an electric amp will cut off high end frequencies of the acoustic sounds.
its a fabolous song
it's very very small, hardly noticable, but i can....i still love the thing, you should go play one at a store befor eyou buy it, and im sure the 300 may nit have it..
u wouldnt be able to tell if u just got to HEAR the sounds!
it sounds more organic and bigger than a full bodied dreadnought...and this is coming from an audiophile...
love it =)
i was desperate for a touchguitar...see my other videos
Hey very nice demo! Thanx for it!
I still own one and will not sale it, because I think for studio works it's good!
You may hear it on my Roxanne cover
/watch?v=bGtc7v-WzjE

All the best from Germany / Cologne
Lothar as ELPI
but its great for live use.....and its fun;)
SOLD, sorry!
I have a black variax and love it. I use it in my live performances and on my youtube videos. Check them out :-)
The only reason I don't buy one of these is because EVERYONE who owns a variax is trying to sell it...
you're right. they must not be all they're cracked up to be. maybe go through alot of batteries and can't be heard without an amp.
silentj80 I had actually ordered a model but it was recalled back to the factory before it even arrived. I told the music shop to give me back my money. Something is wrong with this brand, and I don't trust it at all.
+Aaron Debattista I'm not.
John Baker Ask for your money back, John
+silentj80 no it's really a great guitar I have a 10 year old one and it still sounds great
is it just me or the audio out of sync?? o.O
I’m selling mine in case anyone still looking!!
no amp at all. just straight into the sound board with a mixer
aww, look, its the girl who cusses too much and is mean to her dog...just watch her videos
lmao how can u play a guitar without string? hahaha ur funny men ^_^
