    FINALLY a video showcasing a guitar where the dude actually plays a lot instead of talking for 5 minutes and playing for 3 seconds

    Excellent demonstration and how refreshing to hear someone playing with clean tones and not super saturated distortion.. Shows yours ability first class many thanks

    Just played mine live for the first time. I legitimately had my dream tone instantly. These are still viable instruments, even without Workbench.

      Just bought one for a song (crazy good price not an actual song) . My god what a guitar? BY far the most versatile guitar in my collection. The models are great solo but in a mix I'd challenge anyone to tell them apart from the real thing except maybe the 12 strings.
      Still to see how the Battery life works. I didn't get the extra cable or the floor unit.
      Amazing sounding guitar and very playable for a 20+ year old guitar but needs some stability mods to help tuning stability.
      No regrets.
      Luv and Peace,

    Fantastic demo. I don't see how anyone can not like this. Some people are just impossible to please. You did a masterful job of demoing this guitar. It seriously made me want to buy one. Although I'm not really sold on a git that's based on bridge piezos hooked to an internal computer, as long as Line 6 supports replacement parts it seems like a seriously fun git.

    Top marks for the recording quality and playing skills, Tunable. I've just bought the same model on Reverb after watching this.

    • @ytusersumone
      @ytusersumone 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      👍Cool. How has the playability/the setup been? Any latency? Fully satisfied with the acoustic modeling? Xxxx(fill in anything else)😉?

    • @esseff55
      @esseff55 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@ytusersumone No latency problems at all. The set-up was fine out of the box, I couldn't fault the relief and action. Holds its tune very well too. The guitar build itself isn't what you'd call high quality but it's still quite playable; it's the electronics that make it so attractive. Modelling is generally very good, especially the Guild 12-string. The sitar sound isn't quite authentic but fun anyway. Some of the electric/semi-acoustic tones seem a bit generic but they'll probably sound more distinct with the volume cranked up. I'll try them out using a Vox Valvetronix amp sometime and fool around with output wattage control.
      I'm still experimenting with the POD XT Live Workbench settings but so far I'm very happy with the Variax.

    • @rasputinsbeard3899
      @rasputinsbeard3899 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Those couple of strange acoustic tones in the intermediate positions (2 and 4) are 12-string emulation. They actually sound better when playing a lead track.

    • @peterdgreaves973
      @peterdgreaves973 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The acoustic models actually sound, the key is routing. You have to have an A to AB splitter with a foot switch. When you play the electric models you send it to you guitar amp, when you play the acoustic models if you send it to a PA (like you would a real acoustic) and they sound great. The acoustics here sound like a real acoustic would if you played it through an electric guitar amp.

    Something intrigues me about these. Actually loads of things but I'll stick to this one. In my case, I play certain things in certain ways because of the physical properties of the guitar. To me the feel of the pick guard, the bottom end of the fingerboard, and the pickups are tactile things which often steer how and what I play. The feel of the top of a Les Paul is so different from that of a Strat, for instance. Certain crunches and bitey sounds come from those properties, different on each. But, conspicuously absent in any variation on this guitar. The variance in sounds is remarkable, with the R Billy showing sympathy for the effect I'm referring to, but each sound comes across being in the middle of the range of each represented instrument. Timbre, if you like, is wide in sound selection, but narrow within each sound selected. The look of the guitar sucks for me, it has a child like quality visually imho. Whatever, best demo of this guitar, great job. But I'd rather have the instruments being emulated than tethered versions with unchanging physical properties.

    • @AdaptivePhenix
      @AdaptivePhenix 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I see where you are coming from *but* this is the discontinued, low-end model. I have the better quality (also discontinued) 700 model and the beautiful JTV-59.
      The later models feature alternate tunings and the option of using regular pick-ups when modeling is not required.
      The 300 is cheap enough on eBay that one could justify hacking it for fun.
      I intend to chop the pointy bits off, build a scruffy rectangular box around the body, like a cigar box thing, hide all the shiny bits and generally have it look like something that Seasick Steve would be proud of.
      Roll on down to the open-mic and let all the Martin/Taylor posers go up first with their crappy piezo sound and then you get up with this POS contraption.
      Start out with some resonator and banjo sounds because that's the type of sound that the audience will expect....Then hit them with the 6/12 string acoustic emulations.
      Through a PA, even the 300 model sounds more like a full acoustic than what comes out of those Martins/Taylors.
      It's all about having a bit of fun 😁
