    Lucifer was how I got into SHINee back in 2010! It's been a long ride. They're still very active, by the way - their comeback song this year won five times at music shows, which is pretty insane for a 2nd gen group.
    Some stuff about this song: The dance practice (th-cam.com/video/ovztfpWPo5M/w-d-xo.html) for it wasn't the first dance practice ever released (that was actually also SHINee, with their debut song Replay), but it was the first-ever dance practice that got super viral. While it looks dated to us now, the choreography was absolutely nuts for 2010, and it's credited for pushing all boy group choreo towards becoming more complex.
    It's Oh-new! Pretty easy. Ages at debut in 2008: Onew/Jinki (18, oldest and leader), Jonghyun (18, four months younger), Key/Kibum (16), Minho (16, three months younger), and Taemin (14). Taemin just turned 30, which means he's been with SHINee more than half his life. Yeah, he'll be at KCON! They're actually all soloists at this point along with continuing to release music as a group.
    You're not wrong - SM's style is known for harmonized choruses! But SHINee's also famous for being a great vocal group, including in live performances, so they can harmonize the shit out of anything. They recently released recording behinds for several of the songs on their latest album; someone stacked the layers we were given for one of the songs together to approximate the studio version, and yeah, harmonies: th-cam.com/video/T1j0lA6El2o/w-d-xo.html
    Hopefully you have the chance to enjoy more SHINee. :D There's like 15 years of content so you'll never run out of reaction videos lmao.

    Shinee known for live vocals because they self-admitted, weren't great at lip synching. Concerts are always live vocals. They are kings!!

    What a nice surprise! I am glad you checked Shinee! They are called princes of kpop and are icons in the industry.
    They debuted in 2008 and came back this year very successfully with an album and title track “hard”, they celebrated 15 years in May.
    Groups under SM are known for amazing harmonies. I recommend to check EXO next - vocal kings of kpop.
    Unlike the majority of kpop groups, Shinee doesn’t have a typical sound, each comeback sounds different from another.
    All Shinee members have successful solo careers. The most famous member is probably Taemin - you see, even you have heard of him already :). He has an amazing solo discography and he is one of the best dancers in the industry (along with Kai from EXO). He is known as idol of idols, because he inspired so many people to become idols.
    Taemin is also a part of a group called Super M, which consists of popular members of several boy groups under SM.
    Taemin actually brought me to Shinee, so I know his solo stuff the most and mostly wrote about him, sorry for that. But all 5 members have amazing voices and great solo songs.

    So happy you got to this one so fast and thankyou for taking the time to look up a better live performance. So many reactors pick one video and go 'oh well' if it doesn't meet their expectations. You put in the extra effort and really got to enjoy a better live performance with the audience participation adding to it so thanks again for that (for us the viewers and yourself).
    Other people who are better informed than me will give you all the details about the members and the group but I would like to say that Jimin and Taemin performed a dance off together and it was awesome. And Minho is one of the people who acted in 'HWARANG' with V.
    PS thanks for the free post on patreon - tried to leave a like over there but it wouldn't let me without login info. (and I don't have that lol)

      @@ALovelyPenguin So here is where I will leave my Kpop rant (lol). For me - second gen Kpop probably has the most listenable music. There are good melodies, harmonies and fantastic yet easy to understand stories in the mv's. In the last couple of years I find that most artists (or their agencies) keep trying to throw everything including the kitchen sink into their songs. It's almost formulaic. Here's the rap, here's the harmonies, here's the drop, here's the change-up, here's the 20 instrumentals using every sound ever created.
      Saying most music in the last couple of years is overproduced is just my opinion (and it's not just in Kpop), but that is how I feel when I listen to most music nowadays. TBH it feels like the music industry everywhere nowadays treats the listener like they have no attention span and most of it has to come off like a 'club' song.
      That being said I can't recommend a good SHinee song for you because honestly they are all good. And definitely check out their solo works. I'll go into an SM rant another time.

    Four years before there was a group called EXO, five years prior to the existence of BTS, and six years before there was even a thought about NCT, there was SHINee. In fact, SHINee mentored both EXO and NCT prior to their own debuts, as they are brother groups under SM Entertainment.
    SHINee are the OG legends of the 2nd. generation of Kpop; the trendsetters who transformed Kpop into what it is today. Without them 3rd & 4th gen groups may have never transitioned from lip-synching during live performances into actual live singing -- which is what SHINee did beginning with their debut performance and are still doing. Without SHINee you would not see the insanely complex, synchronized choreographies that are commonplace today. SHINee introduced that. Without SHINee, there may be no dance practices to enjoy. Yes, this gets redundant but -- SHINee did that. Those are just the top few of the many, many trends started by SHINee which have become staples of the Kpop industry and became known as the "SHINee Standard" that each new successive group hoped to attain. As veterans of Kpop, they command the best of the best in production, backup dancers, etc. That's another one of their firsts -- from very early on, SHINee has had male and female backup dancers. They also have A LOT of control over their work. Case in point: they hated the original melody of their new 15th anniversary song, "Hard" (please react to that too), so they dismantled it and reworked it. SM wanted this b-side, "Juice", to be the title song. SHINee said no and chose "Hard". I speculate they wanted "Hard" because the storytelling element fit their agenda. (You can hear them talk about this in their recent "SHINee 15th Anniversary Roadtrip" video.)
    So, welcome to SHINee World (fandom name; SHAWOLs for short) and et me tell you about our five extremely talented guys!
    SHINee is a powerhouse that debuted in 2008 with the most revered and greatest debut song in Kpop -- "Replay". It is still covered by newer groups today. At debut, the five-member group were between the ages of 18 and 14 -- Onew, Jonghyun (who we tragically lost in 2017), Key, Minho, and Taemin. Now they are in their 30s and still making music together as more then just members. They are family; true brothers who have weathered the worst storms and stayed steadfast. The word "CAN'T" isn't in their vocabulary. All five of them can sing, rap, and dance. They are also all successful, top-tier soloists, songwriters, producers, and composers. Key is the guy who designs all their outfits, as well as having an insanely versatile voice. Minho writes most of their rap lyrics, Onew (pronounced "on-you") is the leader with "THE VOICE" that everyone goes gaga over (he is on medical leave right now; should be back at some point), and Taemin is not only the dance king of the Kpop industry, but is both a seductive vocal tempter & awesome rock vocalist with the most Avant Garde MVs in the industry. Jonghyun had the most powerful vocals in the entire Kpop world and was a major contributor for SHINee, as well as other artists within Kpop, for songwriting, composing, and producing. In fact, he was the first SM Kpop artist to write/compose/produce his own solo work -- opening the door for successive Kpop artists developing their own works.
    SM Entertainment hit the proverbial pot of gold with these guys. They learned very early on that SHINee could sing anything thrown at them, and for Onew, that included Opera despite not being classically trained! Originally slated to be a hip-hop group, they were finally labeled as an experimental contemporary group which left them open to experiment and explore different genres. Through the years they have done just about every musical genre out there. They even introduced the Kpop world to Dubstep (2013's "Everybody") and Deep House (2015's "View" written by Jonghyun) before those genres were really known in Kpop. SHINee went on to start mixing different genres together to produce new sounds and even debuted the first Kpop hybrid song with 2012's "Sherlock". Couple all of this musical experimentation with Taemin's constant need for a challenge and desire for more intricate and complex choreographies and, voila, you have an eclectic mix of very talented young men, each with a unique voice, who blended together into an almost perfect group ("almost" only because no one is perfect) with the most heavenly harmonization skills in the business. Their recent comeback album, "Hard" (please react to that too) has their standard eclectic mix of genres including Hip-Hop, Jazz, R&B, electronic pop, etc. There really is something for everyone. AND if you want to hear the most angelic harmonies ever created by a boy group, just listen to their b-side "Satellite" ( th-cam.com/video/HrPisTXpV7E/w-d-xo.html )
    I certainly hope you will react to their most recent comeback and their title track, "Hard", as well as their performance video for "Juice". They're both crazy. Also, reacting to them live is always best because, as they're known as "CDNees", their live vocals are often even better than when recorded. In addition, they are kings of live performances as exemplified by their ICONIC stages in which their concepts are often borrowed by other groups indicates. One such iconic performance is "Sherlock" at Tokyo Dome: th-cam.com/video/M4pINahBoRY/w-d-xo.html and "Evil" in which certain elements of its concept was borrowed and tweaked by another famous boy-group: th-cam.com/video/AQ0L6lY2riM/w-d-xo.html
    Again, thank you so much for reacting to SHINee and hope to see more!

    Thank god you checked out another live 😅 shinee have some of the best lives in kpop in my opinion, but they also have a lot of so-so performances, ESPECIALLY of older songs... not because they lacked talent but because promotion periods used to be SO long. The current average comeback has about 2 weeks of promotions while before groups actively promoted their title track for months... sometimes 3 months 🫠 although the vid you watched first isnt from that promo period... from the hairstyles it looks like 2016. Probably at some multigroup event if i had to guess haha

    Shinee does not lip sync. They sing above tracks but sing live. Korean Artist do that. No back up singers like America. Which is why you see it from them all unless they appear acoustic. It’s been proven and Jonghyun growled to prove it during a performance. Shinee are known for their live performances. They also give the same sound not moving there lips as much as American strain to give. That’s SM training because they can’t debut until they are ready to do those long 3+!hour concerts. You need to study SM a bit. There artist have to. sing live and Generation 2 set the bar. You get the sound you want if you sing the layers you need. They save movement anywhere they can when they are tired. Music sound engineers have taken the tracks out of performances and were shocked when they got clear vocals left.

    • @ALovelyPenguin
      @ALovelyPenguin  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Lol well you are wrong. They absolute lip sync in Korea. It depends on the production they go on. I have no doubt that they don’t lip sync at their concerts but on shows like world bank and others, they are forced to. I mean seriously look at the clip I pointed it out in. His mouth is closed for a couple of words. It’s no slight to the group, sometimes you gotta do it for whatever show you are going on

    • @lddean4534
      @lddean4534 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I’m not arguing with you and shows do require lip syncing. I’ve worked many over the years, here -US. Some award shows etc. request it. Shinee has been for years known that they sing live. As for the US where I too am from many are lazy. I’m just being honest. Shinee’s been criticized by some that say they can’t dance as hard as they do and still sing live, they do. Now trying to tell me to look at his mouth, I couldn’t. They blocked the feed. People have said the same thing about EXO, that’s wrong. By the way Jonghyun helped train them vocally. Girls Generation as well, again wrong. Now I can look up the performance you tried to air but they’re known for the live vocals.

    • @Pos1t1veThinking
      @Pos1t1veThinking 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Shinee's my favorite boy group and I've been following them for a decade now, and they absolutly lip-sync on occasion. Every single artist does it sometimes. Shinee does less than most, since they are so good live and prefer it. There are many reasons for lip-synicing, it could be a bad sound system or just a venue that just isn't set up for live music (common in half-time shows at games) or a member lost his voice but still feels good enough to dance on stage, etc... I think over hyping them as if they are some super-human artists who never lip-sync, does them a disservice and makes the fandom look bad too, because it's just not convincing anyone. Sorry for the rant
