  • In this video, Pat runs through what makes our Slick Fork Saddle a good bet when looking for your next saddle, what went into the design, and what makes it a good choice for roping cattle. You can go directly to the webpage here: www.thedisciplinedride.com/saddle. You'll find a bunch of information on the saddle, the price, and how to order. A lot of thought that has gone into the details of this saddle so we don't allow any customization aside from seat size and fender length. It only comes in roughout. Unlike many custom Slick Fork Saddles, you'll get it inside of 3 months so you'll see it in your lifetime so you won't need to leave it to your kids in your will. Please take a moment to hit the Like button, Subscribe to our channel, and Share with your friends. As always, thank you for watching!

    Sheridan makes many nice Wade special order saddles for under a grand, we have been very pleased with them so far, it’s a great option for the budget minded person.

      I would argue that they aren't the same quality at all. For one thing, they're an A fork, not a true wade saddle. This makes them too high in the fork for roping cattle without putting more stress on the horse's withers. Add that to the fact that our saddles were developed from Pat's years of experience knowing exactly what works and what doesn't in a slick fork saddle that will give you many years and many miles of use with both the human and the horse's comfort in mind. You really do get what you pay for. I guess if you've never had steak, hamburger is fine.

      @PatnDebPuckett  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      We only offer our saddle in a roughout. Over time, the saddle darkens to a richer color the more it is used. We also recommend that you apply Obenaufs Leather Preservative to your new saddle once it arrives which will help with the process. If you email me, I can send you photos of my personal saddle showing how it ages...debpuckett@gmail.com.

    Does a draft horse need a wider saddle than a standard saddle?

    • @PatnDebPuckett

    Pat this saddle looks just like the inexpensive wades that also come out of Chihuahua under brands like Eaton and Corriente. Are these from the same type of maker down there? I have expensive Wades and cheapos, Whats the difference in yours?

    The only thing I don’t agree with is fastening the rope to the horn that tight in case you get tangled or hook into a tree branch

    • @PatnDebPuckett
      @PatnDebPuckett  ปีที่แล้ว

      We’ve never had a problem. We want the rope to be very stable so it can be used to grab onto and so it won’t flap around and hang up on anything. We want the rope to stay close to the horse and exactly where it is supposed to be.
