Quickdraw brand. Good luck if you want one, took a year and a half to get it made and many lies on their end.

Ordered mine march 2021, received 6 months later. Pandemic delays on Cummins end were a major factor, once QDB got my engine on site it was in my hands in short order. I had communication from QDB (Karrie was my main contact) throughout the wait and whenever I asked for updates I always got a reply with in a couple days. I last reached out with a tech question a couple weeks ago and got a reply within 24 hours. I have no issues or complaints in my dealings with them.

Awesome Cant wait to finally get mine installed in my 1st gen. Took 1yr 5months to get the adapter made for a w56 trans…. What trans you running? And i fear the radiator and intercooler are gonna be the hardest part.

late reply (sorry) but its an r151f trans mission with a bellhousing adapter from quickdraw brand. Based on my research I didnt feel confident that a w56 would hold up to the torque of the cummins.

why did you choose the r2.8 instead of a om606 or 648? The weight of the r is terrible on the trail. Throws the weight distro out the window.

      1) wanted to start w/ something w/ 0 miles. 2) I talked to Marlin (of Marlin Crawler fame, RIP) about what to do with my build and he suggested I do the r2.8. That's like getting blessed by the toyota pope! 3) The shop I wanted to work with to get this done was more interested in an r2.8 project than an OMXXX. According to numbers I found on the internet the weight of the r2.8 is about 40 lbs more than a 606 and 30 lbs less than a 648, so any effect on weight distribution is negligible compared to a Mercedes. The engine is as far back as possible w/o chopping the firewall, and with the transmission/tcases the COG feels pretty good to me. To fit everything the transmission tunnel was raised rather than using a body lift which also helps keep weight as low as possible. I havent gotten it on a scale yet but I believe my total curb weight is just a little over 4000 lbs, so its still very light for an off roader.
