I bought the engine and transmission out of this cruiser for my fj60 this year and just got it running. I can't wait to finish it up and start driving it regularly. So far the test drives have been great!
Lol the videos don't really show it, but this engine is LOUD. I've been daily driving this thing for a couple of years now, and I've gotten used to it. But the guy who bought the other cruiser wanted smooth and quiet, so he's putting a gasoline V8 in the 62. I just needed better fuel economy.
@@ShytBoxWhisperer Yeah, 4BT is a loud engine with a lot of vibration. I heard a rumor that Gear Vendors does not recommend using their overdrive unit behind a 4BT. Tends to tear them up.
Vibes aren't too bad on this one, I used fluid filled mounts, and have it adapted to an nv4500 and the stock Toyota tcase. I drove it from middle TN to Utah and back a few weeks ago and it didn't fall apart.
Serious question- is 1st gear at the bottom left position instead of top left like in most stick shifts? I miss having a stick shift vehicle, they are way better than automatic or CVT's any day.
I'm east of you in Piedmont, near Anniston/Oxford. I would like to know more about this cruiser if it's for sell? Or if you know of someone who can do a swap for me? Thanks
Whats you're cruising speed and RPM? Im curious what the Tire height, transmission used, and Final drive are. Im thinking of doing a 4BT swap but can't a good way of staying at 1800 for highway speeds

Why do people throw manual transmission into neutral while trying to stop?. You need to have the gears engaged at all times ,otherwise you are not in control .
