100000% agree with the dropping into first. Had mine from new (23) and every single ride from the dealer has done it. Gotta let the clutch out slightly like you said !

    • @pudmoto

Yeah exactly, not too bad of an issue though cause I don't really ever stick it in neutral mid ride

I think you have switch off the engine in neutral and switch it back on for it select first again. The kill switch also works, although not adviced.

    • @pudmoto

Figured out when I owned it just letting the clutch out a little seemed to take the pressure off the gearbox to allow you to easily slip it into first

Nice video! Had one for 2 years and love 99% of it, for me it has to be:
Quality of the black paint on the exhaust and header pipes. Terrible! Rust central despite using ACF-50 and cleaning
    The gearing issue you mentioned
I had some random indicator issues but only seem to be in very cold weather
How hard it is to put fuel in sometimes. Have to hold the nozzle at a particular angle otherwise it cuts the pump off and you have to fill up slowly af
Finally, the fact that the pre 2021 Model Year (mine) come with 13.1 HP engines. WHYYYY
The legal limit of 14.7 HP is paltry enough as it is - I can't understand why Honda didn't max it out

    • @pudmoto
      @pudmoto  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

My god you are the first person i've seen mentioned that bloody fuel pump haha. It constantly used to cut off so i basically had to hover the pump over the hole just to get it to run

The reason I picked the cb 125 R instead of the F, is the wide back wheel on the 125 R.
I used to ride a honda bike similar size back wheel as the 125 F, and I went down on bends a few times as the back wheel would easily slide over small pebbles.
Whereas the wide back tyre on the 125 R, has got much better grip on the road which reduces dramatically the chances of sliding off, and gives much more stability for new riders. Eg when filtering. It eliminates shaking induced by the riders nerves. The bike stays planted on the road.
So just for the wide tyres on the 125 R I would recommend al new riders get the R model.
It could mean the difference between having an accident happen or not having and accident happen.

@pudmoto - Today, two weeks after using my 125 R daily for my comute to work, I realised how beautiful this bike actually is! 😅
Typically, I do not care about the looks of a bike. I just care to go from location A to location B on a "RELIABLE" method of transport. And cary my personal tools in it. Things that this bike accomplishes perfectly with the 47 lt Givi top box I put on it.
However, today as I came out of a Halfords shop walking to my bike on the parking spot, I looked at it and it was as if I got some sort of divine revelation! 😅

🤯 Not all that long ago 125's were absolute max 2.2k and that was for the top of the range, the gearing thing is something you'll come across on many a bike gearbox, it's to do with the positions in the gearbox - you might find similar if you think your in 1st filtering but are actually in 2nd and stall then fire it up and panic thinking you can't get it into first - tbf though my Deauville 650 isn't too fussy about gears, I can (but don't) just stick it in 5th and drive around all day.

I have the 2023 model. I was having the problem with not being able to put the bike in gear when i was riding it the first few days.
Then I learned to keep the gear lever pressed down and release the clutch gradually. As you gradually release the clutch the bike goes in to gear or out of gear, (depending what you are trying to do) every single time.
So I have no problem with that anymore. I just do the clutch release method.
