    As a non religious person tithing always shocks me. I think its because even if this were your usual monthly tithe you are donating $6,096 a year to your church or pastor. ( Thats a down payment on a house, or a perpetual car payment) Then, I see people putting less than 10% in their retirement. My philosophy is if you aren't putting a match of tithe into your retirement, you can't afford to tithe. I don't tithe but I do help people out when they need it. There's one budgeter that I see who tithes $300 a month to her church and then calls it a "blessing" when her subscribers send her gift cards to cover her groceries. She gets upset when I point out she had grocery money, she just gave it away. I also think that tithes just cover the pastors salary. Not trolling just thinking out loud.

      You are perfectly capable of having your views on this topic. In fact, I welcome discussions on this! So thank you!
      There is so much more than the “monetary“ aspect of tithing. It is so much for me to reply in one comment so i would have to make a separate post because there is more to it than just the dollar as I stated above.
      Stay tuned because I hope to give clarity on this. 🤗

      I AM a religious person and I agree with you. I believe we have to apply wisdom in these situations, Jesus even taught against blindly following man made rules and made it clear God looks at the heart

    • @Mamabear1138
      @Mamabear1138 ปีที่แล้ว +13

      We've tithed as a part of our faith. The blessings that come with tithing are worth more to us than a car payment or house downpayment.

      If you think about it, A church cannot function without money. Pastors are hired, staff is paid, buildings have to be kept up, bills need to be paid, resources bought. Without tithing a church cannot run. I think the money grubbing "pastors" are not honest and that makes the whole system look bad.

    • @kjw79
      @kjw79 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Hello loveandjoy, a tithe is meant to be a tithe which means 10%, so that it shows love of God over money, but still leaves 90% to care for the person and family. Over tithing is not required.

      I do take all of my large fixed expenses and divide by the number of paydays that month. With the payday breakdown I do still aim to live off of percentages for my total spending anticipated for that week.

    how would i do this digitally? no cash. would i get my direct deposit from work, then break it down on the ipad like you did. how do i manage it from them? do i just pay them online as usual, then just take my extra cash and leave it in my bank account? and what would that be for? i guess i’m just confused

    • @NaturallyLizzie
      @NaturallyLizzie  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      You break down your budget however you see fit. For this to be digital you will just use a debit card for your purchases instead of cash. But you’d just have to be very focused on your tracking so you will know what your spending is and not go over budget.
      Using an app like the simple budget envelope you can divide up your money and track it easily.
      Let me know if you have any more questions. Hope this helps!
