Oath of Vengeance is actually just Endure with the additional +5 to all stats effect.
It provides hyper armour and +50% Absorption as Endure does.

This also means it buffs your defense immensely with flat defense bonuses
This weapon is slept on, rarely ever see it around. In fact I think I've legit saw it once in the past two or three months

Oath of Vengeance works like Endure, you can use that to face-tank/ HA trade with some opponents, even surviving some bosses' attack. I've created a RL150 build with Grafted Blade Greatsword, full Bull-goat, Black Flame Protection. And with OoV, the physical dmg reduction can go up to 90%, which allows it to survive full flurry of Malenia's Waterfowl Dance.

@@LK_35 It's actually quite fun to use. Instead of doing crazy damage and one-shotting Bosses, you get to become the real boss and laugh at their meager attacks.
So out of curiosity, I did the math for chase's combatant at 6:36 and he had exactly 2134hp. You get that by having 60vig, Crimson Amber Medalion+2, and the Erdtree's Favour+2, and chase still 3 shoot him. Remember kids a boiled crab a day keeps the 3 shot away!
Btw Chase your crouch pokes did 747 damage, not 640.

Aw man I love this sword! It's only downside is it's lacking range compared to the Greatsword, plus you're stuck with Oath of Vengeance. The Greatsword also edges it out slightly in terms of damage (at least until you buff with OoV, maybe?). Overall, a solid Legendary Armament for the Colossal Swords.
I'm using it and the Grafted Dragon + Dragon Communion Seal for my Strength/Faith build. It all looks really cool paired with the Banished Knight's set.

Edit: At any point in the showcases will you get to the Sacred Seals and the associated Incantation builds? I thought it'd be cool to see you go full Dragon on someone in duels and invasions. Lol if anyone can make it work I'm sure you can.
Thank you! I definitely plan to also do sorcery and incantation showcases eventually as well. Ive just been gathering the weapons and doing the melee based builds first as those are what i have the most experience with.

I just started but I got my Grafted Greatsword to level 5 and it's crushing everything. It's my favorite weapon so far.
And this guy says it's slow in the video.. I extensively tested this and my Colossal Greatsword killing Vulgar Militia Men. The Grafted Greatsword is faster. The R1 swing is way faster than anything on the Colossal Greatsword. I like the overhead smash and uppercut moves on the Grafted Greatsword. This thing is a monster.
I'm new though and I only tested those 2 Greatswords.

Golems halberd would be really cool to see it has weird moves and hits like a nuclear bomb with an A in strength and buffed with lightning armament its even spicier

Would love to see the Stormhawk Axe. The whole class of weapons is lacking but it's not bad overall
As someone who plays as a blue for the extra pvp, you get shafted with your summoning location sometimes like in the last invasion where the blue was summoned outside and had to run in.
Agreed! I swear every time I am summoned as a blue, I spend most of the time playing hide and seek. By the time I make it to the battle, it’s already over!

That sudden crouching spam in the beginning at 2:23 before the duels put the fear of god into me. Just imagine that approaching you at rapid speeds while all you can do is stare in horror as you accept your fate. Otherwise great showcase Chase!!!

got my first (and only (not getting any invasions at sl 50 +9 anywhere, prolly cuz australia)) invasion recently and it was against a colossal sword spamming that roll attack + crouch for panic rolls. man the rollcatch chains on those are tough, i was explaining the concept of crouchpoking to my sister and just idly rolling out of attacks, and getting hit every time. i managed to get out of it after i realised my mistake, but at that point a stray jumping r1 (which frankly probably shouldn't have hit me) came my way and i died. still, great to see you putting those pokes to good use
I was trying so hard last night to remember how much poise it gave, cause I used this for a whole run and only noticed AFTER MALENIA that it gives poise too. I was either at 96 poise and went to 111, or I was at 106 and went to 111. I only found out when I tanked a heavy. It was a good day. So 15, or 5. Probably 5. So glad you used this weapon!

Farum Azula is by far my favorite place for invasions. It has a lot of corridors that you can use as cover, a lot of agressive enemies that you can use for help and a few different areas you can go by invading at the same spot. They can take the elevator down towards those maggot puking things, they can be fighting the dragon (usually the lamest one), they are mostly at the main area, wich you can also get to the top of things get messy, then go down two levels, and finally they can go foward and be "trapped" down, where they can't reach you so it is cannon time! Also it is really hard to spawn very far from the host, as it frequently happens in other areas. I love it!

I’d be interested in seeing some colossal weapons since their moveset isn’t quite as flexible as colossal swords
Having trouble getting the character to consistently crouch to poke with pressing the thumbstick down. Are you mapping another key or maybe an extra paddle on an Xbox elite controller?
I read around and supposedly the poise bonus only lasts during the actual animation of the Oath? Which sounds like a bug, or maybe bs, to me but maybe you could check?
It adds infinite poise and 40% defense to all types of damage and it also wasn't nerfed when endure was nerfed u can cast any spell or incantation without being poise broken out of it for 10 seconds. The ash of war is best used to grant the poise buff and cast frenzy or magic spells even jump attack from double collassal weapons can't stagger u for 10s
How did you bring up your inventory during a fight like that?
And are you playing on keyboard or controller?

I think the poise works like it does with endure you get a momentary poise boost when activated also working like the shield ash of war vow of the indomitable
It may also combo into a swing
15:24 damn i had an invasion in that exact same location going against almost the exact same setup, only difference was that the the host and phantom were 100% more passive and were using the glintstone crown exploit so it was 1000% more annoying

I apologize if this is a dumb question, or something you've explained before, but I recently discovered you so I'm new around here.
Judging from camera movement, I'm guessing you use a pad/controller, but for the life of me, I cant figure out how you navigate the menu's so fast. Do you use your right hand on the left analog stick and navigate the menu using your left thumb/finger on d-pad, or do you use your right hand on the d-pad and keep your left thumb on the left analog stick. Hopefully this isn't worded too confusingly- and I totally understand if you can't answer or if this is a trade secret ;)

Just beat the game for my second time and beat all bosses in 3 or less trys (3 trys: mohg radahn hora loux elden beast), (2 trys: fire giant), (1 try: all other bosses) and I'm in love with this game

i wish you had used the ash of war more often, i realize at a level 125 build it's not much of a buff but it's still cool to see. You can get it really early in the game which incentivizes going all in on strength, so is better for lower level builds

How do I even avoid the colossal sword poke? I roll away they stab me, I roll twords they stab me, I try attacking and they still stab me.
You see it catch a lot of ppl in the video. In the invasions he spams sword poke over and over and people can't escape it.
Not sure if poise from wielding big ass weapons shows up on the chart but maybe it adds to that poise

Hey Chase I enjoy your videos a lot, can you do a ghiza's wheel build, it works ok in PvE not much in PvP but it is a fun weapon to use. I'd love to see a weapon showcase of it.
My new favorite build is an arcane faith tank build with occult great stars.

It's time to showcase a dagger chase. Cinquidea is cool because it buffs beast incants. Or you could showcase the crystal staff and use the crystal sorceress
I can’t remember if I’ve asked this one, but double handing great omenkiller cleavers would be a cool showcase. They have inherent bleed so you can get weird with them.
Could do some cosplay too.
Try the Giant's Face shield, whatever it's called, it has a cannon in it supposedly, didn't actually try it since I didn't have the stats.

Know it's more of a meme, but can we see some daggers, bows or crossbows? I know that their perfomance leaves much to be desired, especially in duels, but I kinda want to see what the pick perfomance looks like, even if it's not very competitive.
The grafted blade greatsword is my main weapon
The Oath basically had Endure built into it. If you hit the button and check your Poise fast enough, I believe it will show you what it looks like buffed.

my only issue with this swords AOW is that it doesn't fill up your HP when using the AOW. It leaves you with that odd little bit of it missing.
Honestly do not think it would have been game breaking to have it simply stay full like using a great rune does -.-
This sword is really good imo. Definitely one of the best weapons to use and it's very early/easy to +10 the weapon before radahn
How can you +10 it before Radahn? Radahn is early in the game

Hey Chase. I always hear you mention the fights are too quick. Have you thought of running with a +5/+12 weapon? You're rarely on the recieving side of a fight so it'd give you more time to play with your food. Might even make folks more aggressive with you doing less damage.
It's lore is literally the reason I want to run it for my Frenzy build.
Unfortunately I will probably have to be on next playthrough (more runes after all) before I can make that viable (between stat requirements and fat rolling), especially with how Bloodhound Step is a better Ash of War...
Although that is entirely because of Bloodhound Step being an inferior version of the Old Hunter's Bone from Bloodborne.
I think the poise buff actually reduces incoming poise damage instead of just increasing your stat. Elden Ring has some weird poise calculations.
