Hi Richard, I’ve wanted some of these for years but, they never came into view, when I was looking, until now. Your comments are very much appreciated and sending happy modeling feelings and thoughts back down the tracks.
Great video Andy those mag lights look very good 😮 The parcel vans would definitely have some lights in them. The passenger's and lights do add to the look of coaches. Take care .😊
I’m on it with the NDV then Richard and do I add a lit tail lamp… although these do go midway too, if I’m not mistaken. 12 passengers is definitely an ‘off peak’ look maybe but, I’m into rural
@modeloco Great mybe fit a rear lamp if on the end of the train would look good.As mention in chat mybe paint the inside leds yellow to give a warm 80's look.
I have had a long rake of these in a que for lighting kits but when i started it seemed a right faff so i gave up until i had a stiff drink. I am now tea total.!!!!
@@LiveSteamNick Hi Nick, So the rake cured the drinking but, has left the rake without lights then I take it. If you take a tipple over December the faff may return 😂
To get the colour right from blue LEDs to look incandescent look lighting use a yellow highlighter pen on them. It works like a charm and doesn't effect the light output. The yellow highlighter pen ink doesn't wear off the LED because the lights are in the coaches and inclosed. Just FYI
@@Richard-w8d6q Thanks Richard. Have used a Woodland Scenics C1291 road marker pen in the past but, your idea sounds a bit less dimming and will try yes👍👍👍👍

@@ianhughes-zf1ll Hi Ian, Many 🙏. There’s so much to coaches but, it’s very intriguing indeed. You need to know about the actual nearly as much as the models themselves, once you begin delving deeper. Then there’s all the innovations and upgrades on top. So it’s almost three pronged and quite a job cramming it all in but, love this side too and people’s experience and knowledge, supportive comments and feelings👍
@@modeloco Grease proof paper is a nice defuser for somethings I’ve found (not sure if it will work in this scale 🤔 Shame Quality Streets are not in their plastic wrappings any more But yes a touch of yellow glass paint would work too I recon

@@brblue6839 Yes, I did and you’re absolutely correct. Thanks for highlighting it. There were MK4 coaches announced in 2019 for the Class 91. These were to include lighting of some description but, have not dropped. I’ll add some subtitles because I’ve blurred the line here yes, between coach and locomotive innovations, like Rapido, Bachmann and others, regarding removable magnetic roofing or on loco’s it’s roofing sections/panels and then being excited about the hall sensors which will feature along with power banks on the Cavalex Class 60 of course. An innocent slip of the tongue mistake but, again shows how much there is to juggle as a consumer with so many innovations and as many manufacturers embracing them. PS I’m sure Cavalex coaches will arrive at some point but, yes, I’m a bit ahead of myself here whilst narrating 🙏
@@IainDavies-z2l Iain I only sang 3 words ‘It’s all right’ though and the intro is only 24 seconds long to let others know what I do but, yes it’s me. You can skip it in the chapters. Do you advise I cut it off entirely or just stick to blowing my gob organ 😂

Good choice of coaches.
Great channel, thank you.

Good video as usual Andy, can I just ask which size magnetic couplings do you use on the coaches, the 17mm or 20mm? Thanks
@@AshWeir 11:30 highlights it but, definitely 20mm R7399. Thank you Ash 👍
@@modeloco thank you
PS bearing in mind my tightest bends are Radius 2. See 22:20 onwards and which coaches weren’t as successfully close coupled 🙏
I fitted passengers and lighting myself to my Bachmann mk1's. A real pain reconnecting the end pipes though!
@@Rocketed12 It certainly is especially on the new range!!! 👍

Kenneth that has really helped because it’s always had me tongue tied when you get to the ‘ei’ bit. Blyde it is from now on in 👍👍👍

The parcel coach I’d say would have some lighting inside, but maybe not as bright as a passenger one? I’m not sure
That’s a valid point. I don’t think there’s a lot going on in there so wouldn’t want to highlight that. This way does enable a good compromise 🙏
Personally I’d add warm white rather than cool white. If only available in cool, I would look at some kind of colour defuser
Yes, being of that candescent era. Addded a touch of yellow to some cab lighting recently and that does the trick too 👍

You mentioned Cavalex coaches a few times in the video. As of yet, they have never produced any coaches.
