Lost Years - The Connection (Tiergrinders Synth cover)

- My adaptation from Lost Years amazing track The Connection, from his new album Venom.
Original track hit me in all the right places at first hearing.
I love the opening delayed bassline, the following sync sound and everything that song beholds.
My cover is not an attempt to match the original 100%.
All the tweaks are recorded live even though it might seem there is not much happening to the sounds. I record each parts audio and video individually and gather the song and video from those :)
I wanted to test my new JP-08 for the bassline and use Juno-106 for the main synth lines.
Originals Bassline is really fat and I tried my best to emulate this with the JP-08 in unison mode.
Sync sound that I used is from Roland SH01 Gaia, the much bashed virtual analog from Roland. I love this synth and I used its preset sync sound. Original preset has LFO for pitch modulation so I turned that down and inverted the pitch envelopes ENV DEPTH from oscillator modulations attack and decay section.
My Jupiter Clone plays the backing synth arpeggio lines.
Drums are mixed selection of samples. Hihat samples are from 808, Claps from 909 and second more compressed clap I got from my DR-202. Toms are from Simmons samples. - เพลง

I listened the original part by part. First I made the repetive bass line at the begining of the song, next the deep sync synth sound that follows and build from there. It's mostly trial and error but I've done remakes since 1990's when I started with Amiga 500 and Pro Tracker :) Lost Years use lot of "clean" synth sounds. With this I mean that you can easily tell what waveform is used and it helps recreating the individual sounds. Thats part of the charm that I love in Lost Years productions. Songs have lots of authentic 80's sounds. Back then sounds where pretty simple but beautiful and powerful.

It takes time to write the composition and shoot the video, but I'm always looking new songs that inspire me to do covers/remakes, so I take a look.

No problems. It is a real fun track to work with/play on guitar as well, once I get a decent camera situation going I might have to try record a cover of this myself also!
what I'm unsure of is that Lost Years uses hardware. he owns a linndrum and a tr808, but those are Simmons drums. he makes no mention of owning Simmons but he seems a purist to not use samples. what within his songs is the Linn? the kick and snare?
