Power Awakening Piccolo is an entirely separate unit in Legends tho, there's nothing in his art or animations that relates to Orange. Not to mention they're weren't any hints alluding to Orange either.
It's not nearly the same thing. It's not like they announced power awakened Piccolo as a character who transforms into orange Piccolo only in his ultimate and then detransforms, plus Piccolo was a very good unit up to this point and was the main purple option for movies team until he got replaced by ultra chadgeta blue.
Even with agl lr gohan they fumbled bc people didnt want to use ssj gohan they wanted to actually transform into ssj2 gohan and not only play ssj gohan

I feel like people base their judgement on defense and not attack. Here's my mind. You wanna survive? Choose Piccolo. You wanna nuke everything? Choose Gohan.

Unless you’re talking about the lack of orange piccolo in legends, PA piccolo is still a great unit who deals tons of damage.
