Those Engineers were what was seen in the first Alien film on that space ship they discovered. That big alien skeleton whose chest was broken outward, with what looked like a giant space canon. Also, the Engineers, before they were killed on this moon by whatever was chasing them, they were heading to Earth to destroy mankind because we turned out to be such violent beings.
Michael Fassbender is so darn good in this movie!
32:15 there was another after this one, called "Alien:Covenant". i really enjoyed these two films, and the back story of how the aliens were created, and the theory of the Engineers. you were right, the engineer who jumped into the giant cannon looking thing was in the 1st Alien film, he was called "the Space Jockey". another great reaction to a great film! hope you watch the 2nd part! 👍
In the end of the movie when they meet the Engineer, there was a lot of deleted content/ scenes from that moment.... In the official script, the Engineer gets mad because Wayeland is asking for eternal life because he thinks he's a God like them and created David the android. The Engineer says Wayeland doesn't understand sacrifice is part of life, just as the opening scene showed where the Engineer in the robe killed himself to create the human species. The Engineer says this isn't his home world and his home is called paradise and the reason they're killing humans is because we're a people that constantly destroy each other and everything we come in contact with. The Engineer says they tried TWICE to save us, once in the beginning of time and the second time (2,000 years ago) they took a child from earth (Jesus Christ) back to their homeworld and educated him on life, the meaning of life, etc. But humans killed Jesus and THAT'S when they were going to take off and destroy us but their own weapons turned against them.

@@joaosantos5503 Blu-ray bonus features. Probably some other sources. They deleted those scenes because religious people didn't like the thought of their 'god' being some alien or even associated with aliens. Even after removing them the really religious people/critics gave it poor to mediocre ratings. It probably made them question their faith. Kind of like how they react to portraying Alah...they get a little silly.
I think the standout performance is by Noomi Rapace 🎉

It's a mystery how *terrible* the old man makeup is in this, considering how good it was on Max von Sydow in The Exorcist, made in 1973 (he was only 44 then and looked the same as he did years later when he really was old). Progress does not always go in straight lines.
One of the things Prometheus is famous for is Charlize Theron's character only being able to run in a straight line 🤣 Poor woman.
I have a very intense Veso Vegal response (specifically to movie gore, and getting my blood drawn), and during the surgical tube scene, I passed in my chair during the movie. My wife was used to this happening so frequently that she never batted an eye, while people around her kept asking if I'm ok. She was just like, "Nah, he's fine. Happens all the time." I woke up about 3 or 4 minutes later, absolutely drenched in sweat, and continued watching the movie like nothing happened 😂
Prometheus takes place in 2093, Alien takes place is 2122, Ripley was in cryosleep for 57 years, hence Alien(s) takes place in 2179

A lot of people didn't recognize the asian polite in this movie is the homeboy Wong from Doctor Strange.
I don't remember the name of the game but on it, the three most dangerous species of the galaxy are confronted, one of them is us, humans. We are technologically skilled but very aggressive. Maybe the engineers foresaw that. Great video guys, please watch the sequel! 🤗

It's a beautiful movie to look at but I still feel like Ridley squandered the Alien universe, especially the Space Jockey. I personally choose to view Prometheus and its sequels as existing in a separate universe from the Alien movies. Sort of like the Prime and Kelvin timelines in Star Trek.

It took me a few years, and a few TH-cam videos to fully grasp the properties of the black goo, and I'm someone who enjoys science, even if I don't really understand anything other than basic concepts. You seem to really get science. And here I am, foolishly thinking that - like other Eastern European countries - the vast majority of Romanians were religious. More religious than scientific.
I hope you also watch Alien 3. That is my second favourite Alien movie after the first one.

exactly as Marian said, engineers are much more advanced than humans but something got out of control, that's why one of them locked himself away..!! here on TH-cam there is a video of the deleted scene of David's conversation with the engineer... so you understand why he gets furious...!! Ridley Scott removed this scene from their conversation...🤔🤷

This movie is a Prequel to the movie Alien, providing a backstory of the space jockey and the creation of the xenomorph monster.

@@omega311888 it did admittedly recontextualise what the Space Jockey’s are in Prometheus revealing them to be humanoids , and supposedly there was more additional plot elements before the introduction of the Xenomorph, but Alien Covenant went in a different direction

The Octopus alien was the first face hugger. The first face hugger hugged an Engineer and gave birth to the Queen laying the eggs in Alien and Aliens.
It can be the origin story of how Alien and the Xenomorph because Alien Vs Predator isset in 2004 and the Xenomoroh queen in that movie has been a prisoner in Antartica for atleast 500 years because the Predators comes back every 500 years to fight the Xenomorph.
Alien vs Predator makes this timeline in Prometheus inconsistent to each other. The Xenomorphs were created way before Pometheus.
Alien vs Predator is a separate thing and is not canon to the Alien series. It is a B-movie spin off like Frankenstein vs The Wolfman or Godzilla vs Mothra. It does not fit into the timeline because it is not part of the official Alien series.

I have to say, these two movies (Prometheus & Alien Covenant) aren't really done to my liking. I like the explanation & backstory for the Alien and Engineers..I just don't care for how the movies are done. I really like the original first two movies Alien/Aliens and these just feel disconnected to me. The special effects are done very well though.

supposed to be a prequel to alien. The first movie .. I hear they're making a new movie base between aliens and alien that time period between those two movies , coming out with a new one.. we will see how true that is
I wouldn't get hung up on the whole _Predator_ thing, guys. Ridley Scott made _Alien,_ then James Cameron came along and made an outstanding sequel with _Aliens,_ and the rest are mostly donkey shite. (The third isn't horrible, but it's nowhere near the quality of the first two.) _Predator_ started in a different universe, there were a couple of crossover films (_Alien Vs. Predators_) and video games that were just money-grabs, but they're not even worth paying attention to.
What you just saw was Ridley Scott coming back to the franchise he created (and unfortunately sold the rights off to 20th Century Fox) and taking the reins again. Many fanbois of the whole franchise complained about this film, for many reasons (too preachy, not enough suspense, not enough action, whatever.) You just can't satisfy everyone, especially obsessive sci-fi/fantasy lore geeks. Personally, I think this was a thoughtful, quasi-human origin story/hard science-fiction piece that was masterfully executed. Not to mention the excellent score, with the amazing contributions by Harry Gregson-Williams, one of the only composers who ever crawled out from under Hans Zimmer's scaly wings, still able to write a great (memorable) melody.
The next installment, also, by Ridley Scott, is _Alien: Covenant,_ which also deals with those themes, and is well worth a watch.

Thanks to both of you for your reaction--always fun to see how you work your way through a film. There are currently two prequels to Alien. Prometheus (set in 2093) and Alien: Covenant (set in 2104). Alien takes place in 2122. There are three sequels. Chronologically Aliens, Alien 3, and Alien: Resurrection. There are also two Alien vs. Predator films, both set in 2004--which doesn't match with the events of the prequels.

Guys you DID NOT READ my comments i made in Alien. This is the original pre-sequel to Alien . It shows you who Weyalnd is. David is the first evil robot. Ash was the second generation. Bishop in ALIENS is the 3rd generation. I told YOU to be SURE to get and watch the cut conversation between the Engineer and David. It would answer a lot of your questions. Im not going to tell you here, because i told you to!.😡 Now the next movie is Covenant, where David and Shaw go to. I dont think the movie is good. its junk. other fans disagree.
in ALIEN with Ripley the Nostramo landed on another planet in the LV system. This occured on a different planet in LV system.The Weyland Company new aliens were there because Weyland died here before and sent radio messages back to Earth....
Yes the Engineers created us on Earth.... Who created them is not answered. Neither is where is the orginal Alien (xenomorphs) came from. In some movies Aliens vs Predators they expand further.
