itsyourtime it really wasn't! he was very nervous which is normal and it showed a lot! i love him and the song but people who heard him for the first time didn't get to see what he was truly capable of doing. Also i think they shouldn't have changed this version, they made it very calm and a bit sappy . He could have owned this "crazy psycho" look and kept this version.

It's one of the eurovision songs I still listen to. Alekseev's live performance shows how important the staging is. You can't just have a good song, becauase Eurovision is more than that. I was betting on him that he will be in top 15 in grand final, but after I saw what they did with the staging and the song I lost hope. It was so cheesy, and he was very nervous. I felt so sorry for him because if they just stayed with original version of this song, and simple staging (maybe just him on the stage with some visual effects on screen), then I'm sure it would be a success.

My personal favorite. Am I the only one who's stunned by the different tones he sings in? (you can't argue with me about his voice if you only heard him live once, where he wasn't even allowed to sing *this* version of the song) His voice is - in reality, magic, and if he doesn't make it to the Final, Europe is cancelled.

The live performance was terrible. I love the studio version and it was my favourite, it's dark and haunting. But the live version? They changed it into corny, overdramatic, cheesy ballad. If they went into more dark and less over-the-top tone in the live performance, it would qualify without problems.

Am I the only one who thought the symbolism at the live performance actually worked really well for this song? The flower shot through his hand, and then his back being torn open with the roses stuck in it.. to me, it had a similar vibe to this video. Here, he stabs the pen into his hand, and the blood turns into the ink he writes with. Both presentations have one thing in common: they represent love, covered in blood.
For me, the song strikes this strange atmosphere of love and hope, of a beautiful story -- but something is wrong. Self-harm, perhaps loss or denial, almost hauntingly. A wilted rose; a forever that he lost himself in.
And that atmosphere makes me wonder. It really fascinates me! And for me personally, the symbolism in the performance had a similar effect; I really wasn't disappointed by it.
-- But that's just my view on things, haha. I understand why some would find it cheesy. :P
