I hope for the next videos you can add the reasons why we must do each move. What's the benefit of doing it? What does it do to a certain part of the body? Thanks! And keep it up!

Dream Euro Trip Hi there. Thanks for watching. 😊. The reason you are practising rolling on the floor is to be more comfortable when you fall out of the frogstand or headstand movements that you’re practising. Also through doing this you will improve your flexibility, your body awareness, your strength and your confidence. How did you get on? Thanks Roger

iSwearToCod Just being mental. ;). But interesting you say that. Breakdancing and gymnastics have a lot of similar moves!

Hi Roger, what are we trying to get out of being able to roll around?
Also, what are your thoughts on the forward roll you performed (a gymnastics roll) as opposed to the parkour roll?

Telanos Hi there. You’re trying to be comfortable and safe whilst rolling on the floor. You will also become more resilient and more confident at practising movements such as the frog stand and head stand. Hope that helps. Thanks Roger

Regarding the parkour roll. Sounds great. Whatever works for you. They’re all just different movements and skills that get your body moving better. 😊

I thought this exercise was going to be like living through my nightmare! Not because of the rolling but because of the FAILING! But I’m proud to report that that was not the case! As a failurephobe, this exercise was quite therapeutic. I procrastinated to start doing it (I have been doing it only for about a week) but turning the ACT of FAILING into SUCCESS was sneakily MASTERFUL! And hooting for someone to fail in order to succeed, GENIUS! Still need to improve a lot but feeling really good! So I’d recommend all my fellow failurephobes out there to try this and FAIL 😉😂🖖

I have a question. I remember doing these at PE and having massive anxiety because it felt super dangerous to do it. I don't have much arm strenght to withstand my weight, wouldn't "failing to not touch the head on the floor" and the weight falling on it be very dangerous? Should I wait to practise these when I have more strenght?

Mónica Marques That’s fantastic. It sounds straight away that you’ve learnt something about yourself. You said it. You don’t have much arm strength so that gives you something to work towards. Best thing to do is try all of them and see which ones work for you. Did you try all of them? Thanks Roger

No matter how many times I watch this I simply cannot translate it into action.I get in the position, nothing happens!I can't even do the 'fail' moves. What happens first? Do the legs leave the ground? Or dies the head go under? But if the head goes first it would be in contact with the mat and that's not what you say?I don't even think I could go this as a child to be honest.Maybe a video of you teaching someone that can't do it from scratch would be helpful?

Hey Stephen. Thanks for taking the time to reply. The main roll is a way to roll without your head hitting the mat! You start in the frog stand and have your elbows pulled in. As a child you would have rolled on your head. Only issue is, if I teach you to roll on your head you’re not going to like it. How about the last roll over the back. How you getting on with that one? Thanks Roger

      No. Can't do that either.
The Rocking Tucks I can do, but that's all 😟

Stephen Lewis Ok amazing. If you can do the rocking tucks that’s a great start! When you rock backwards keep going and eventually you’ll roll backwards over your shoulder. Make sense?

Stephen Lewis Hey Stephen. The rocking tuck actually leads into the backwards roll which is one of the exercises I taught in this video. Did you try the backwards variation? Thanks Roger
