Prometheus version of "Atlantean Sword" by Basil Poledouris. Performed by The City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra and Chorus, conducted by Nic Raine. Released Nov 2, 2010.
The legend goes that the Atlanteans at the height of their power and arrogance, tricked the gods into giving the swordsmiths the knowledge of forging "metals from the heavens". It was implied that they perhaps meant mining pure metals (hence a stronger sword) from meteors colliding with the Earth. The Atlantean Sword had "glyphs" that while the movie studio said they mean nothing, others have speculated that perhaps they are the personalized "sigils" or symbols of the houses of the kings of Atlantis. Only one with an understanding of the Atlantean language would understand it's meaning. Now this is just speculation, but it is suggested that the final king of Atlantis was none other than King Kull (who was an exiled Atlantean) and ended up being the king of Volusia and Acheron, who may have eventually taken Atlantis before the cataclysm. His tomb seems to be in a similar arid desert environment as Volusia itself was. The only difference is that it seems Kull in his tomb, had a sword made of the mythical and highly advanced Atlantean metals garnered from the gods, rather than his axe from the movie "Kull the Conqueror". Its had only surface rust, it's blade having no tarnish or dulling, and if anyone notices, when Conan reaches for the sword, it's as if Kull's bones nod to him in silent acknowledgement that Conan is perhaps either a distant descendent of Kull, or is worthy of the sword and the title of "Conqueror" as he must prove himself worthy as Kull once did. Kull conquered Volusia and Acheron. Conan conquers Garf Stygum and Demeter Aquelonia. And even has a similar pose upon his throne as the long dead Kull and the troubled King Conan.

This may be the best piece of film music ever. It really conjures up pictures of gleaming empires beyond ancient and their rise and fall.
