Your past worlds, if your name is your real one then your ancestors knew these worlds. Living in Scotland or Ireland. They live through you. Honor them as best you can.
One of my favorites in the soundtrack of Conan the Barbarian. The mood is mystic with the voices and the instruments. It brings me into a meditative state of joy and humanity.
The theme is from cantigas de santa maria, and this is called " como poden per sas culpas" .... The arragement is amazing....!!!! Basil poledorius, one of the best composer movies.
Awesome. I can't speak for anyone else but for me music like this talks to my soul. Its like I'm transported back to an age when we didn't live on top of each other and we were more free.
Wow...its stuff like this that re-assures one that the ancient days didn't necessarily suck (despite illnesses and food scarcity)- hearing this 800 years ago would of been incredible.
What a masterpiece! well done sir! Conan the barbarian was the best movie i ever watched! its immortal! im 30 yo and i can still watch it and find new things i didnt notice before. RIP Basil Poleodoris, the geniuse that made this divine music so all of us can enjoy it :)
Honestly I'm not convinced that I turned out okay by any metric, but I'm grateful for my dad for watching Conan the Barbarian with me when mom wasn't at home
Nostalgia for sure. I didn't have TH-cam, or interwebs for that matter back then, so this song was lost for a time. Recently I rewatched both barbarian and destroyer and realized how incredible these movies and scores truly were. And of course now I instantly TH-cam the soundtrack... And here we are. One of the movies that'll hold a spot in my top 5 forever. Cheers!
@@TheWisestwolf Me too guys :) I watch with dad and i have eyes like coins big and shine and heart wop in rythm of this drums first i saw naked women xD ! And inner barbaric lust awake in me >:D ! Skol !

As the slaves are lined up, the air fills with the shrieks and screams of the weak. As the weak are sacrificed to Set, god of gods, master of master, the skies darken to a red hue and the priests become intoxicated with the smell of blood. The sweet cries of the virgins as they are sacrificed; the despair of men and women who, once being great warriors, await in terror to be sacrificed to our master! The serpents slither around, the blood of victims dotting their scaly bodies.... Set shall have this world, for he is the only god to pray to. Infidels shall be sacrificed by the millions in his honour, the skies themselves shall echoe the screams of the pitiful. Set, god of serpents, master of all master, grant us power.
It's too bad this sort of darkness still echoes in the world we live in...I have met people who say they can remember images and memories of this time in the distant past. Shape shifting serpents, the weakness of humans, the unrelenting killing and death....survival only of the strong....shaping a trend of humans that do survive take by example the long gone serpent gods of darkness and hate....I wonder if we as people can ever find our own identity. Or perhaps the serpent gods are not fully gone from this world and there are still battles and wars of liberation to be fought and won.
Love this music. It really goes with the timelessness of the movie. I bought the soundtrack strictly for this piece and for the Riders of Doom. I was so disappointed that it was not on there. Still what a thrill it was to finally get to hear it. mrsparkle001 you did a most remarkable job on this... Love it!
You can tell how good the movie actually is by the impact it has had on other sub-cultures like music and computer games over the last 40 years and the fact that even today we still marvel such small details as a few minutes of its music score.
I love you. This is my favorite soundtrack of all time. This is my favorite song from the soundtrack - so you could say this is my favorite song of all time
This music really takes you back to a time lost and land never dreamed of but lost to the anvils of history forgotten but still lives in the psyche of mans primordial history. Never lost or forgotten what still lives in the hearts of men. That's what I think this music captures what it emulates and aspired by.💜🙏🌌✨🦁👑🦅🦝🐍🐳🏝🌦
so strange, I know this was performed by the Clemenic consort, Cantiga 166 Como Poden. but I can't find it on TH-cam anymore other than this piece which Poulidoris "augmented" for Conan. This doesn't actually appear on the original soundtrack because Poulidoris did not write it

Great job! I made a few attempts at doing a kind of restoration using the cleaner Clemencic Consort recording myself, but never got a satisfying result. This is great :)
I grew up on this music!! I wish never had! Todays music is trash! I am still waiting for for my body lifted up from something like this in this day and age. This brings back so many memories!!!!
This is also one of my favorite songs from one of my favorite movies, but it is not included in the soundtrack. Reason is maybe because it's a variation on some medieval song, with added vocals.
My recollection of the movie is that this music was included although not in its entirety. A portion was played when Conan was in the snake pit & was distracted by the pendant on the wall. The snake sneaked up on him - and met its end!
Yeah it was included in it's entirety, but in the movie it was preceded by a chorus of chants before they started climbing the tower. The only version of that I could find is such low quality I didn't even want to attempt to clean it up.
This song is so psychedelic and sounds very authentic for the time line on this movie even its still fantasy. Just so much better as all that rock guitar action shit..
The sacred rituals of ancient gods, actualy it feels like christianity in europe rooted out all such things from the pagan ancestor mostly from slavic folks.. and not that we had worship evil snake god but many secrets have been lost, same as go for celts and their wisdom.
Interestingly, this from the The Cantigas Of Santa Maria, a collection of Middle Ages songs/poems, with every one of them mentioning the Virgin Mary.... who is the woman, mentioned in Genesis, who crushed the head of the serpent. And what happens in the Conan movie when this song plays? Conan sticks the giant snake right through the head, then chops it off!
@@BusyBadger when listening to this I keep remembering the sound of a dagger being thrust into the snakes lower jaw with a thud followed by a kind of distressed hissing noise. A few arrows being fired then the whopping sound of a blade moving through the air Before the haking through flesh noise begins.......then the screaming starts. All part of the tune for me.
AfromanDisco it did, it got pinned to the wall with an arrow then Conan fucked it up and cut it's head off. Then he killed that lord doom guy that could turn into a snake, he got his head cut off too, I see a pattern emerging here...
Juice Man are you a real barbarian living in a fantasy medieval world then?? You might think you are but I can tell you now...you're not. Great tune though
