Hardly any other country offers such a variety of spectacular forces of nature! We will give you insight into how it came about that the people of a small, distant island with only a fraction of sunlight in the winter months are happier than the people in sun-drenched countries. Iceland - a unique land with an incomparable landscape and happy people. This documentary is a scenic expedition through volcanoes, geysers, waterfalls, fjords, and almighty glaciers. They detour roads for the spirits too.
Even in summertime it's pretty rare to witness any sunny days, people are mostly happy with standard of living in here but we're also nr 1 country with highest rate of chronic depression.
Iceland is incredibly a unique country on the face of earth... See you soon ... Lots of love and good wishes for the people of Iceland from Bangladesh 🇧🇩 ...
God’s beautiful inhabited world is amazing indeed! So happy for TH-cam to show me what i probably will never see in person! Mankind all over are the same, we just do the same differently!
Thank you for sharing.. ICELAND (ISLAND) is very facinated for us. I only have known a family from ICELAND who live for many yeaars in the same town (KALMAR) I lived during 1982-2012.. Wonderful people! I have heard a lot from some thai friends who took trips to ICELAND. So I will visit ICELAND in future. Nature is mysterious! Best Wshes from STOCKHOLM - SWEDEN 😇
I really love watching documentaries but this one is the best I have ever seen. It provided, not only long past but also a lot of history of the land and much more. Great production all around - 👍
I was stationed in Iceland back in 83/84. I got to tour most of the Island. The countryside is indeed beautiful. The people very Friendly. The climate is of extremes. I used to call it, The land of the horizontal snow. When it snows, it nearly always comes down sideways with strong winds.
Such a gripping documentary on Iceland...Enjoyed the commentary very much...(sometimes the long-drawn music was a nuisance...)...However, appreciate FreeDocumentaryNature for bringing us these wonderful videos...FREE...Stay Blessed ...
Hmmm... icelander's are the healthiest, happiest people in earth huh. And they have the most clean water and probably food as well. I wonder if there is a correlation. 🤔. Not to mention such beautiful scenery. I've always wanted to visit Norway, now Iceland is on my bucket list. I hope I make it someday before my country kills me.
0:00: 🌍 Iceland is a unique and beautiful country with a rich history and successful society. 8:58: 🌊 The challenging conditions of Iceland's landscape, with glaciers and barren land, made agriculture impossible, leading to a mass exodus. 17:54: 🌲 The early settlers in Iceland faced a shortage of wood, but were fortunate to have trees washed ashore from Siberia to use for building. 26:01: 🇮🇸 Iceland's history is marked by Viking settlement, concentration of power, and foreign rule. 33:57: 🇮🇸 Iceland faced numerous challenges throughout history but remained resilient and optimistic. 41:04: 🇮🇸 Iceland is a country that embraces failure, leads in female emancipation, relies on tourism, and produces more energy than it consumes. 49:04: 🌋 Iceland's history of volcanic eruptions shaped their resilience and unity, leading to their current prosperity and happiness. I don't think Icelanders are happier than other people. Their sagas are very depressing. Perhaps they are happy in their own way. Most likely, the Icelanders have just adapted to the inhospitable territory they've been exploring and occupying since they arrived there. Icelanders did not invent democracy. In fact, the Brazilian Indians did not have and needed neither a King nor Law. They were healthy from time immemorial and lived in large communities of hunters and gatherers who produced everything they needed. They eventually fought intertribal wars, but these conflicts were for glory rather than wealth. The concept of wealth, incidentally, was introduced in Brazil by the Portuguese, who were so humanly poor that they only thought about cutting down the forest and looking for gold to accumulate money.
01:09 A minor correction, India elected its first woman prime minister way back in early 70s, so Iceland isn’t the first country to elect a woman head of state.!
iceland is known as the top of the world, not the end of the world. antarctica is the end of the world. i mean if you're gonna make documentaries about geographic places, it helps to get the references correct. heck, even the title has it right, but the narrator gets it wrong, so far, twice and i'm only 11 minutes 18 seconds in. kind of like the settlement recreations having to be shot outside iceland since there are no forests or trees
Incorrect information as usual coming from Western Media which lives in their own bubble. The modern world’s first elected female head of state was Sirimavo Bandaranaike, who in 1960 became prime minister of Sri Lanka, the island nation in South Asia then known as Ceylon.
Got to love the narrators question at 2:28 despite the fact that people living in areas with small populations are almost always the happiest. It is due to lack of competition. So so simple. Since your immense brain can (supposedly) figure out climate change, you should easily see their happiness is due to lack of the huge populations competition. If you could figure out such simple things maybe more would fall for you climate change fantasy. I mean for gods sake calculus is more complicated than addition and subtraction. Even a child would know this if his brain wasn't infected with the magic of the extreme liberal agenda.

@@RaggaStyle89oh no, don't say that, what causes the depression 😢
@@susans.s4609I think they meant least depressed. The video mentions least depressed in all the world.
@@susans.s4609 Not getting enough sunlight can contribute to many people suffering from depression - look up Seasonal Affective Disorder as an example

10:47 Good grief, I don’t think I’ve ever heard music in a documentary go so hard, but I’m totally here for it. Keep on shredding, dude! 🤘😎🤘
Was gonna say the same thing, the music in this documentary absolutely slayed ☠️🤘🏼
One of the most impressive and beautiful countries in the world. I've only been there one time/one week but the memories are on me forever 🟦

the irony the "recreations" used are not filmed in iceland isn't lost

Geezer would erupt too, when his tech forgot to tune his basses before a show.
Wish dont have the music just watch and listen to it quietly, plz.
Homes burnt leaves are still on trees next to them ?
doesn't iceland need external funding to keep it running? Can they self sustain?
Yea … 🦉
All the god bots flocking to every nature video 😩
Unwatchable because of "background" audio pollution in the foreground.
The loud music ruins this video

Hideous. And, they breed horses for slaughter? 😞
So it's OK to breed cattle, sheep, goats, pigs and chickens, but not horses?
After this I Want to date a woman from Iceland lol
