The winter and summer pruning videos are very useful. It’s helpful to see how you approach seasonally pruning on the same tree - before and after each time. Thank you.

Wow. Thank you for sharing. Now I have a new idea. I will try to do this whenever I have a new fruit tree. Greetings from Belgium

Thanks, that was super informative. How old are your trees and what and how do you feed them? They are beautiful.

I am not an expert but I would have removed much more wood from the trees. On spur fruiting trees you need to identify the spurs and remove the vegetative growth to encourage fruiting on the spurs. When I was growing an espalier tree for a customer I would pinch all new growth that was not spur growth on a weekly bases. It put out lots of blooms and fruit if spring frost did not damage blooms.

Hi Robert, very interesting statement. Maybe you can do a video yourself to show us viewers which vegetative grow to pick. For a beginner, all leaves on the fruit tree looks the same.

Thank you for this vlog. I have my very first apple tree in the ground being trained 'espalier'. I was really wondering how to keep pruning it. You vlog also (without you mentioning it) also showed me that the lowest branches of my tree could also be trained (locals around my way clip off the lowest branches). Again, my thanks for this knowledge.

Huy Vam i do every year. i spray some weed killer around the base of the tree then put down bark mulch but the weeds come back by the end of the season but it does help i think.

What is so wrong with eating liberty apples? Never heard of that variety.

kwitchabichen well there is nothing wrong with it. but it’s not a top apple in my books it’s amazingly easy to grow and there are lots of uses for it. we normally make apple sauce with it.

Why would you film an AFTER video instead of actually filming the process so it would ACTUALLY MAKE SENSE as to what you’re cutting !?!?!
