This helped me a lot man, I've been looking for a tutorial on song for quite a while now but nothing seems to be very helpful except this video. Thanks man keep it up!
Hey! The tuning for this song is just standard guitar tuning (EADGBe). If your low E string is overpowering the rest of the strings, there could be a few issues: 1) You might just be playing that string too hard. Experiment with how hard you’re plucking that string with your thumb; maybe try a little softer. You could also try playing the other strings a little louder. This is almost certainly the cause if you’re playing an acoustic guitar! 2) If you’re playing an electric guitar, you might want to change the pickup you’re using. Often, the neck pickup can be more “bassy” than the bridge, so experiment with changing the pickup using the pickup selector. Make sure all the tone pots (the dials on the guitar itself) are turned up fully. 3) If you’re playing the guitar through an amplifier, make sure the “bass” dial isn’t too high. 4) If none of these things resolve the issue on the electric guitar, it might be the way your pickups are set up. You’ll need to adjust the pickup height - probably best to Google some videos on how to do that or take it into a guitar shop and they’ll be able to fix it for you :) Hopefully this helps and keep practicing! :D
Hey! Try only holding only the notes on the A, D and G strings first, with the fingers I mentioned. This turns the chord into an Ebm7 instead, which will work nearly as well as Ebm9 in the song. Once you’re comfortable with Ebm7, try and add the note on the B string back in with the pinky to turn it into Ebm9 again. Keep trying to play it every day and I promise you’ll get it soon! Happy practicing :)
