Black Rose Wars: Rebirth is a competitive fantasy game of deck-building, strategy, and combat set in the hectic universe of Nova Aetas in Italy. BRW:R is the second chapter in Black Rose Wars series. 25 years later, after the last war, mages are here in the Lodge, to re-establish order. Rooms are broken and now it's time to rebuild them up. Black Rose is still there.
Each player is one of powerful mages of the Black Rose Order who aspires to become the new Supreme Magister in order to acquire the mighty power of the Black Rose Artifact and the Forgotten Magic. Mages must fight, fulfill Black Rose desires, and gain strength with their spells until their power reaches the containment threshold of the prison where they are exiled, finally freeing themselves. Each mage has at their disposal six schools of magic, each one with its own strategy to annihilate their opponents and increase their power.
Mages fight each other in a modular arena of hexagons called "rooms". They summon powerful creatures, cast destructive spells, or devise dark deceptions with their enchantments. After being killed, mages are reborn immediately, allowing them to re-enter the fight without delay - although their death still fed energy to those mages who caused it.
The game system is divided into different phases. Each turn, after choosing new spells from the six schools of magic, players plan their strategy in advance, placing cards face down. Later, they reveal the played cards to kill each other, solve missions, summon creatures, or destroy the prison rooms, one against each other and against the Black Rose (the playing system).

First of all, sorry about the dark video, I shouldn't have turned the lights down in the beginning + the quality is also not 4K because I'm using a new camera and forgot to set it to 4k *sigh*
The playthrough has some mistakes but I wanted to upload it anyway since many people were asking for it. My plan is to record a second playthrough with 3 other avatars in the nearby future.
Some other important things to mention:
- When an Umbra evocation does damage during the evocation phase, that damage is BLACK ROSE damage because it is controlled by the Black Rose regardless if you own it or anyone else. During the action phase you can play a nightmare card and activate it, then the damage will be your cubes.
- In the future when an Avatar dies I will only skip the first action on their card, not whole card. This will increase the difficulty.
- In the future when an Avatar has an active protection I will set it aside to stay active until it is triggered or if the full round has ended. This will also increase the difficulty
- In the playthrough I destroyed my own totem with a room spell. This shouldn’t have happened as you never damage your own evocations.

Well, in your defense, I only started playing it like 3 months ago 🤣, so that explains it a bit.
About 3/4 through, and really enjoying the video so far. You explain rules and actions very nicely. And I'm glad you did this with three avatars... As I will want to be doing the same when I play solo.

Ive played 1 game vs the possessed... They have a dominion ability. If thry activate when in their cell. They go to the black rose room
Yeah but I didn’t use that ability on purpose. Otherwise they always gather in the middle. So to stop that a bit I ignored that ability. If I had made them the black rose then I would have kept it.

They are compatible as far as that each of the Avatars can be used as a solo opponent. If you want to use more than one however, you need to start house ruling because all avatars can't be connected to the Black Rose.
I really wonder if I should back this one, I play only solo so is this game good for solo player only ?
I definitely enjoy it but it's quite a chore to be honest (I don't mind though). Obviously the game is much better with real players.

I am trying to follow and play solo woth an avatar. I think i missed it but notice you go first. Doesnt the black rose avatar go first?
According to the rulebook page36, at the top, the avatar is always in the middle of the number of players. So the avatar would be second in a 3-player game.
I hope you do another game with higher resolution soon!
