hello in the migration review 2023, they mentioned that they might give older skilled migrants a PR pathway to regional areas only to drive the workforce there. Any thoughts on this topic?
One interesting change to the visa program would be to scrap 190 visa so everyone seeking for state sponsorship must move to regional part of Australia and apply via 491, while maintaining 189. In many sense, 189 and 190 are functionally the same, but 491’s two step approach ensures the visa holder is indeed contributing to the economy in any way, shape or form before pursuing permanent residency, rather than just getting PR straightaway, at least for most folks. However, given the guaranteed popularity skyrocket on aged/disability care industry thanks to strong demand, many probably would just rush to complete those courses and take shortcut for PR, and after that, transition to do other jobs they like rather than working for aged/disability sector. Will the reform counter that kind of migration-first purpose-driven practices? Only time will tell.
Will it have any affect on the students currently studying in Australia? They haven't given any Information about the points for studying in Australia so I can't make out anything!!
isn't it discriminative to give more points for single rather than for people in relationships? lol but the rainbow flags must be shown in the cities haha
