Believe it or not, Tuva was quite important to the USSR during WWII, sending about ~20,000,000 worth of gold to them and hundreds of thousands of animals. It also did declare war on Germany (although, given it was a Soviet puppet, it was never officially recognized as an Allied Power) shortly after the USSR did, although the exact date is disputed (often cited as 25 June 1941). There's also a few minor (but easy to miss) errors; Ceylon was never a part of the British Raj, being a crown colony. Additionally, while the Philippines was still a U.S. commonwealth at the time, it was allowed to sign itself in 1943 as part of the UN declaration (given that the U.S. was already planning to give it independence by 1947) much like India. Finally, Mexico, while not a direct participant in the Pacific War, provided Air Support.
7:59 lots of people tend to forget that the Soviet Union actually invaded Japanese occupied Manchuria in WW2 and actually played a big role in Japan’s decision to surrender to the United States. Some historians even think that the nukes didn’t need to be dropped in order for Japan to surrender. Also pretty interesting how it took months after Japan’s surrender for some Japanese forces to surrender in Southeast Asia
From what I have read and watched, I would say the nukes weren't needed. The Japanese already had spread their forces too thin and rapidly running out of supplies. It's only a matter of time, resources and millions more lives until the Japanese gets defeated. The only reasons the Japanese were able to get that far were because they were about a decade more advanced than the Chinese and the Chinese Nationalist Party decided to settle the civil war before fighting the Japanese. The Nationalists proved to be no good at war nor economy, so the Americans pretty much gave up on them, resulting in the Chinese Communist Party rapidly gaining power with the help of the Soviets. The CCP proved to be capable of fighting against the much advanced Americans in the Korean War. So, in theory, the Japanese would've been defeated by the CCP and the Soviets without the US dropping the two nukes.
@José Gabriel Da Fonseca there are documents about it, prominent leaders such as Eisenhower and McAurhur were against the nukes being used. But be real, if the US firebombing Tokyo didn’t cause a surrender earlier in 1945, why would two nukes which do the same damage have any effect? It’s odd the Japanese waited until after Nagasaki as well. It’s like when the USSR invaded they decided to surrender to America. Also why did the United States nuke and destroy and kill innocent civilians who had no part in the war. Why not do a military base? I suggest seeing the video “Dropping the Bomb: Hiroshima and Nagasaki” by Shaun via TH-cam. He explains everything in detail. Much of American history is white washed and the end of the war is taught completely differently outside the US. It’s almost if America doesn’t want to get rid of its nukes, and admitting the it committed nuclear genocide against Japan means people will be more vocal about getting rid of nukes, that’s something the CIA and US Government don’t want.

The Dutch East Indies were quickly obtained by the Japanese because the natives welcomed the Japanese arrival and the natives were forced into the army by the Dutch East Indies government but the natives fled to the Japanese army.
Both. The Dutch homeland was already occupied by Nazi Germany and their troops in the Dutch East Indies (KNIL) were only good at fighting local rebellions not against other industrialized countries. The Japanese Navy at that time was also superior until 1942 Midway

He is an expert at tracing other people video's but still here draw the map open another layer then put the flags open another layer then fill it out whatever color then add flags then clip it so it won't go out of the map for the naval advances open another layer under all layers then add a flag
Please make: World War 2 at all fronts: every day
???
U just ask yourself 😅😅

Imagine Japan empire invade Soviet Union instead Pearl Harbor
The world would be a better place (the nazis will fell, but the comunnists too)
@@nombreartistico91218 Japan empire won the war and more anime and technology but in the man in the high castle is a half globe between two major empires , the Nazi empire and Japan empire into a new Cold War
@@christoferrodriguez7672 very good serie, but it would be better if the axis fall, with the urss.
@@nombreartistico91218 your not good spelling
@@nombreartistico91218without USSR allies would have never won the war
My great grandfather served in World War II.
3:25 the peak size of japan is scary
Minor correction: The French State was not proclaimed as the Axis-collaborator until 1942.
The French State = Vichy France (German-collaborationist) + German Occupation Zone (The French under German control)
French Indochina = The Vichy French colonial administration under the German-collaborationist (Not the French State)

Y pensar que Japón si pudo aver sido el pais con mas población en el mundo solo con islas
You forgot Thailand took some land from malaysia as well
1930-40s Japan was something different.

bro why was the music at the start so sad
It wasn't.
I’m surprised by how quickly Japan managed to take the Dutch East Indies. Was Japan really good or was the Netherlands really bad?
The nether lands ha d already been obliterated by the nazis along with a large chunk of their army, it would be surprising if there was much of a force in the East Indies
The Dutch East Indies were quickly obtained by the Japanese because the natives welcomed the Japanese arrival and the natives were forced into the army by the Dutch East Indies government but the natives fled to the Japanese army.
Enemy of my enemy is my friend wkwkwk we buried several thousand japanese soldiers in kalibata cemetery and regard them as national heroes.
Soekarno ✊
Both. The Dutch homeland was already occupied by Nazi Germany and their troops in the Dutch East Indies (KNIL) were only good at fighting local rebellions not against other industrialized countries. The Japanese Navy at that time was also superior until 1942 Midway
The fact that the Japanese Empire almost conquered the Pacific Ocean is just 👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌.
Thailand during invasion in se asia: 🗿☕️
The stuff they were doing 🇹🇭🔨🛠🛤➡️🇲🇲

Idea:Vietnam war
Hope you made it ;)
I'm from Vietnam:D
Vietnam shit was boring usa and south Vietnam vs Soviet and the full allies naw that’s boring
Where is the Battle of Midway?
Midway
The only Axis mistake is Japan, instead of attacking it. The surprise is that USA should attack the Soviet Union because it is exhausted and also unable to protect Siberia.
USA and USSR fought together angaist the same enemies in WW2. They didn't fight angaist each other.
USA and UK wanted to invade USSR but they stopped when they found out Russia successfully made the atomic bomb in 1949
@@grandcanyon-l7dno they didn’t it was just a hypothetical, the US was very against operation unthinkable
Fun Fact:Chinas flag before was the Taiwan flag because that time China was Capitalist
More like nationalist
I mean the Chinese civil war was going on at that time, so the entirety of China being under the ROC isn’t accurate
How many times do I have to tell these mapper that Japan didn’t take over the Thailand but the video show the Japanese take over Thailand in a few days and that completely wrong ;(
Your life's completely wrong it's just a joke
Kingdom of Thailand 🇹🇭 joined the Axis in 1941 because it didn’t want to get invaded by Japan 🇯🇵 but in 24 January 1945, the Japanese Empire was declining and was on retreat on many fronts so Thailand 🇹🇭 joined the Allies
Can you please please please please please please please do ww1 in Africa every day and my suggestion spanish civil war every day with flags
Nice Video! (29.05.22; 23:20)
I like the details where there's still japanese activity even when the nation had surrendered. They either refuse to surrender or just didn't know the war ended
