In this video I am making the Florida Spicy Bowls for the first time. I hope you enjoy this video. Thanks for watching!
I had totally forgot to add the ingredients I used in the video. So here it goes….
Big John’s hot sausage
Big John’s pickle egg
Big Mama pickled sausage
The rest of the ingredients you can used whatever product brand you like …I like the Mezzetta products, but when I got ready to do the video. Some of their products of what I needed the store was out of, so I just bought another brand.
Pickles
Jalapeño
Banana peppers
Red pepper flakes
I used Crystal hot sauce you can use whatever hot sauce you like to use.
For the seasonings I used Slap Ya Mama and Badia cajun seasoning . You can used whatever seasonings and spices you like for your liking .

This looks like a prison meal and I am pretty sure this is where this recipe came from originally, I have been a Detention officer for over 8 years and we see alot of stuff like this.

Never heard of it but I can say I always love the ingenuity of my people. Healthy or not it’s just amazing how we can make something out of nothing.

@nadirahcroom1938 sweetie, do your research. Pickled foods &snacks have ALWAYS been a staple in certain parts of Florida. So it does not qualify as "a trend." Trends don't stick around for decades & decades at a time. Trends are temporary. In all my 49yrs in Florida, I've never heard of pickled snacks trending, stopping & coming back again. It's always been here and will remain here. It may be tweaked here and there, but a "trend" it will never be. I think you're using words having no clue as to their definition. And no. Hear me out…Vlasic has a new pickle called Sweet Heat Chips. They are sweet and spicy at the same time. I’m going to try it with these pickles.. I only saw them 3 weeks ago. I had been hearing about these Spicy Bowls, but this is the best looking one so far. Thanks for the recipe sis!

@@sabre5807 diabetes is different it has to do with blood sugar and lack of or resistance to insulin. This looks delicious but the sodium count along with the chips would lead to hypertension and heart disease if eaten regularly.
@@learn119 a diabetic might get sick from the sugar in this. BUT the sodium is the issue My mom's blood pressure is really hard to bring down..this much sodium and sugar is a NO at least for my mom but she also has a enlarged heart and previous stroke so that's why I'm like no on the sodium but I eat quite a few of these items and they have sugar for sure in them. 1grams in one hot mama not bad so hopefully this bowl don't exceed much more sugar, BUT the sodium in a hot mama though is 36 percent of your daily though!! Anyone with health issues need to stay away from this lol so maybe if you took two days to eat this it would be alright. As a diabetic you have twice the chance to get heart disease or have a stroke DONT FORGET IT. That means twice the chance SODIUM can kill you. my mom was diagnosed with type 2 then a few weeks later literally had a stroke.
@@sabre5807 so sorry your mom has both diabetes and hypertension. It is a dangerous/deadly combination, never go near a bowl like this knowing you have those.

My neighbor (here in Florida) sales these like an 80's crack pandemic 😅 definitely a Florida thing. My mom in Oklahoma makes hot pickled eggs without the sausage and some of the other ingredients but I guess each state may have a version.

I loved this video! And No I have not had a spicy bowl. But my mom was a southern Indian. She would take us on vacation to St. Augustin Florida. She would go buy huge pickled eggs and huge colossal pickles before we came home. 😢 I miss that. I will make this for me and my daughter. Thank you.
