I don’t know why it’s REFRESHING to see Ginuwine in an interview. Like he said, he comes from an era when celebrities had mystique. They weren’t overexposed. Great Interview!!
The interview lasted 3.0 hours, but Ginuwine's personality is so compassionate, humble, and sincere that it felt like an hour long and not three hours. Thanks for all you do, Boo.
A Ginuwine interview is rare and one that lasts over three hours with him speaking about his career and relationships is even more so. Legendary talented artist who’s always nice to people
One thing I loved about Timbaland, Missy, Ginuwine, Aaliyah, Magoo back then was that they were *ALL* on separate labels but *ALWAYS* showed up in each other's videos and when they did, the vibe was that much better
Exactly! They shared and spread the love and supported eachother. I used to just watch their videos sometimes just to see what random singer or rapper would appear in them. That was so much fun on its own.
I appreciate how G gave flowers to everyone that was part of his musical journey….Aaliyah, Missy, Timbo, R.Kelly, Michael Jackson, Prince, Playa, Tyrese, Tank, Devante….he’s so humble with it. Salute King!!!
Icon. That era of music is irreplaceable. I remember anticipating genuwine, jagged edge, r Kelly, 112 albums to drop, they were DELIVERING album after album of CLASSICS. Big up to genuwine he most definitely cultivated my teenage days lol. Definitely deserves his flowers
I really love this episode. I remember riding in the back seat of my daddy and mama car singing my heart out to Differences. I loved Ginuwines voice and moves.... when he did the rendition of Doves Cry, I was mindblown. Him, Missy, Aaliyah, Timbaland.... they stayed making hits. Music today is NOT the same.
I knew G back in the day before his 1st album. I lived at an apartment complex in LA where a lot of artists used to stay when recording albums. I used to play ball with him there often and he was always a very nice and humble guy. I was a young kid at the time and he always had positive words for me. He said that he was there with Devonte but never mentioned that he was doing an album. He disappeared for a while and I was thinking, whatever happened to G? Next thing I knew it, the Pony video was on TV. I was so happy to see him succeed, he certainly was a genuine person. It was such a long time ago but i am able to remember that he would often have his boy Boogie with him. It was Boogie and G, Boogie had a bleach blonde Fro and G had those squiggly sideburns. Interesting hair styles are normal these days, but it stood out back in 96. G could hoop a little bit, but I remember Boogie being trash... lol. As a matter of fact the Outlawz stayed there and would hoop with us when Pac was on death row. I grew to have casual friendships with a few of those guys and had 2 brief encounters with Pac. i mention him to reiterate on how much times have changed. Pac was considered to be heavily tatted in his prime. These days his tattoos would be seen as moderate
This may be corny but for some reason it feels good to hear you wished him luck then and the to see it come to fruition. Wow . Sorry if that was too deep I guess to hear positivity in these times is rare . Thank you for that memory.
Ginuwine is the definition of a true superstar !! I was born in 97 unfortunately but growing up in the 2000s I’ve witnessed the greatness of this man and beyond till this day! Thank you drink champsss!

This is one of my favorite interviews. Always loved Ginuwines music but never knew much about him outside of that. He was so candid! I didn't expect him to be so open, humble, and funny as well.
I remember being 6 years old singing in those jeans at the top of my lungs man the good ole days! Ginuwine has gave us so many classic thank you my brother !
Ginuwine seems like a lovely guy. I look out for Drink Champs every week, but I think that he is one of the few that I watched straight thru and enjoyed every minute. Way to go giys.
The first 3 CDs I ever owned were LL Cool J's greatest hits, Lost Boyz Legal Drug Money, and Ginuwine The Bachelor....So this season of Drink Champs been crazy for me!
The fact that you had the Lost Boyz legal drug money makes you a champion. One of the best albums of the 90’s sadly it doesn’t get mentioned much but it’s a classic!

Side Note:
I think that 100% album is a classic and Ginuwine should do a NPR tiny desk concert.
Yes definitely friend!
He's definitely overdue for one
That would be dope
I'm here for it
I'll take it a step further."The senior" is underrated and is also classic in my book

Right, and I love him
Wish it went back to those days when we didn’t know nothing about these folk’s personal lives.

Probably because he's not all on social media. It is refreshing to hear his story.

He has always been polite to people and have never spoken bad about anyone. Love him!!
False he spoke bad about Timbaland one time in a interview. But it was a misunderstood situation. He mentions it in this interview
The fact that Pony was recorded in 93 is crazy…wayyy ahead of his time
