I must say they kept this outside of people's view very well.. I have been to the airport around a dozen times since the construction started and did not expect this level of change. I thought it was just addition of more gates and update some hardwares. I will go take a look soon.

Who thought of the grandstands/bleacher seating? What a great idea. They are located right where arriving passengers enter the main lobby/ticketing area. If you are waiting for someone you can sit down and still easily be seen (if you're up a step or two) by the person arriving.
There are power outlets at either end of some of the bleachers near the regular staircases (look under the bleacher). The bleachers themselves are about 3-4 feet deep, so there is plenty of room to stretch out, recline, or sit cross-legged.

I flew out of Portland and I was very impressed with the new terminal. It really is beautiful. It had been many years since I had been to Portland. I was however disappointed with the food options. Last time I was at this airport there was a Food Court and restaurants and shops before Security. They are all gone and only a few places were there now. I went through Security which was great to Terminal D, and I'm sorry but I was no longer impressed. I wanted a sandwich and found a little news stand convience store place and that was it. So I got an overpriced little sandwich there. I walked to another concourse and the choices were Suishi, Vietnamese, Pasta. These are fine if that;s what your into, but many travellers just want a simple sandwich or something quick. This set up was not what I was use to at an airport, however I have to admit its sort of what I expect across the board with Portland. It's their way or the highway.
