So beautiful! Great that you can walk all along the coast like that. It's funny when I think about the Portuguese islands one of my strongest memories is the sound of the wind on all of our home videos 😆 I loved that tunnel and the natural swimming pools!
Awww thanks Kathryn! The wind I can always hear is my wife walking ahead of me! 😳😂 I’ve actually covered a separate video on the rockpools, as we went there the day after and spent a day there. Absolutely loved it there & did some snorkelling 🤿
Thanks for this video! I missed out on this walk when we visited in 2021 (because of the storm damages, so will have to add to list of things to experience on our next trip. #1 right now is the Pico Ruivo/Ariero hike that was also impossible to do during our visit because of freezing rain and wind. 😅
Thanks for the feedback, glad it was helpful! I’ve actually done a video for the highest peaks walk, which is just out of this world. You must check it out! 😜 ⛰️ Best Madeira Walk - Pico Arieiro to Pico Ruivo Hike 2023 | Worlds Best Mountain Walks th-cam.com/video/Lnmw_FNH-zY/w-d-xo.html
James, thanks for a great informative video. We are booked to stay in Camara de Lobos for the whole of next July and August so this really hit the spot. I am both a distance walker and a swimmer but I did not know about that amazing walk along the coast. Question: is it still possible when the tunnel is closed? Many thanks again. (not sure I would refer to Camara de Lobos as a village; maybe a small town.)
Hey Michael, great to hear from you & your feedback. We go to Madeira most years and too will be visiting next year for a couple of weeks. The tunnel is hit & miss but either way, you can find a way around, if it’s closed. It’s is a town, perhaps once a village. I mainly due food recipes but I’ve covered several other videos on Madeira, including the Pico Ariero mountain walk, which is essential. Here is my playlist… th-cam.com/play/PLXObAaEdpysVM0xmVs1csgUILgeIZdXZ3.html&si=sgWgpDyCfOwGEmXQ
