Is this style pencil sharpened the same way a traditional pencil is? So lovely🥰

On amazon it says do not sharpen with a pencil sharpener. The graphite only goes through the top. So, I'm wondering how long the graphite is and will it last.

I am not sure as they are all different sizes...thinking a sharp knife to whittle them down would work.
