- Here’s a video of my Legacy H-10 2-8-0 #1288 taking a trip around the layout. This is a beautiful Lionel model with incredible detail.
It sports the swinging bell and whistle steam amongst the standard Lionel Railsounds package. It has an IR tether and class multi color class lights up front. This was one of my first brand new Lionels, once switching my previous layout from S to O scale.
Apologies up front for the extensive use of the whistle during this vid, but the whistle steam effect makes it irresistible to not hit that whistle lever on the Cab remote!

Great locomotive Brain, I do love the whistle steam effect and the swinging bell. You always have the best videos and trains. I'm so glad you switched from S to O scale or I probably wouldn't be watching these fantastic videos. Do you miss S scale sometimes? Thank you for showing this locomotive and I really enjoy hearing these awesome sounds from Lionel.
Thank you Roger!! A lot of my S trains are actually Lionel with Legacy which have some really nice details, Railsounds and other effects offered on the O scale models. When I made the jump to O, I actually started with collecting the models that I had in S, including a Big Boy, Y-3, UP FEF, GG1 and a few others. I also have quite a few original American Flyer locos and rolling stock as well, from the 50’s. I have some HO also from when I was a kid, including my first locos. These days I have actually found a lot of enjoyment in working on the O scale locos. I’m not sure I could see anything smaller anymore when working on trains, so not sure I really miss the other gauges/scales, which is mainly driven by my vision these days. If I can’t see it, then it no longer becomes enjoyable.😊. Great question! 😎
That makes sense, I have always been a big fan of Lionel growing up but economics has more or less made my latest choices to be MTH for affordability but I can't say enough about Lionel's sound systems, they are awesome. I do enjoy watching all your videos and seeing your layout. Thanks again.

Thank you Matt!! I highly recommend this one if you come across it for sale! I think this was maybe 5 or 6 hundred brand new and was a bargain for all the “bells and whistles” (literally) that it came with. The swinging bell was an awesome bonus on this one, along with the nice detail. 😎

Looks like a great steam locomotive. I don't own any modern steam, I may want to revisit that decision.
