McCord isn’t being dragged enough. 55%, 3 pick-sixes, 5 ints. No tds. This is beyond horrible. Stat-padding to get 326 yds is disgraceful in a horrible game like this.
Heartbreaking loss for Orange Nation. It’s honestly taken me until Sunday morning to watch any recaps, and KOTN was my 1st watch - you have become my favorite college football show. Love the combination of astute analysis on the fly (both while watching games wrap up on Sat nights, and this post-game show, while other shows are sometimes taking until Monday to post), your sense of humor, and kudos to you for being the LEADERS in realizing that Northern football shall not be ignored. I want to thank you for your honest appraisal of this game. I did not realize that Pitt changed up their defense to the point that it didn’t resemble their game tape thus far. That explains a lot. We never seem to make good use of our bye weeks -Pitt obviously did. And although I was super-worried about keeping Kyle in that long, and risking injuries, I was also worried about how he was handling things, mentally. As you mentioned, he IS our QB1, and exactly who we’ve needed to lead this monumental program rebuild. 🧡 As sad and frustrated as I was about the outcome, the multi-sports-Mom in me also wished I could give the kid a hug, and let him know “it’s ok - you got this.” Lots more football to play, keep the trajectory upward. Go Orange! 🧡🍊🏈🎯
Devil Doc Smith is in the chat section, boy Oh Boy I do not miss Kyle McCord, OMG 6/20 on 3rd down, Yeezus 5 ints. If he had done this to TOSU, we would not let him on the bus home. or back into his Dorm room OMG 35/64. What in the college football went wrong for him
Just my opinion, but Pitt didn’t really do much to convince me that they are a great football team. It just felt like one of those nights for McCord and the Syracuse offense, nothing was going to go right. Credit to Pitt for the game plan and keeping McCord on his back foot all night. Syracuse clearly did not know how to handle the looks that the Pitt D was giving them all game long. That said, they definitely had a good share of bounces go their way time and time again. Ultimately they won by 28 points, but were out gained by 110 yards and scored 3 defensive touchdowns. This is not a repeatable performance. Hoping that SMU has a close game with Duke tomorrow to keep the spread reasonable for next week. Then I will liquidate all of my worldly possessions to bet against this pitt team. I really don’t see it as analogous to the Indiana win over Nebraska. Indiana also forced 5 turnovers in their game- but their offense put up 495 yards to Pitt’s 217. 495 to 217! Against a nebraska defense that you would take over Syracuse every day of the week. It was much more like the Kansas State BYU game where Kansas state out gained BYU by 125 yards and lost 38-9.
Question: 3:55 many chances are you taking on Offense when you are leading 31-0 in a quarter and a half? Are you honestly comparing total yards of offense when the losing team had the ball all night and threw it 64 times? Pitt got up big and went into safe mode all night. Yes, they had a couple 3 and outs, but how you getting into a rhythm when the other team keeps starting drives over 1 and 10 after you scored on D?
